After setting this up, my wife would pull the earthquaker out from under the pillow. It shakes and vibrates so loudly from the floor that the whole house shakes. Not kidding. I have wood floors so you can hear it from the floor below. Had to put it under the mattress, above the box spring. The alarm clock is Loud, and the ringer violently vibrates and wake everyone up. One thing I don’t like about the clock is fact that the time won’t stay in sync for longer than a day. For some reason, the clock’s time won’t stay accurate, it keeps delaying for 15- 20 seconds. Every other day I try sync the clock with my phone exact time so the time be exact as possible. For some reason every few days the clock would somehow be 10-15 seconds behind. I noticed this because sometimes I would set my alarm on the clock and the phone for extra alarms. When the time goes comes, my phone’s alarm clock would chime, but the clock’s time would stay the same for about 10-15 seconds before changing the time. It’s not bad enough that I would return the clock, but no matter how accurate you set the time, it will always be 15- 20 seconds behind ... show more

I don't hear thunder and lightning in the middle of the night, unless it shakes my house. This alarm is loud and annoying, which is good, and has an additional feature, which is a vibrator, that you plug into the clock, and then put on your mattress, or anywhere where it will buzz and bounce and wake you up. Updated review: The company was very gracious and sent us a refund. While I am very disappointed the clock stopped working (because I was very excited to have this bright display since my teenagers generation just use their phones and I think there is something to be said about when hitting snooze seeing a big bright time for your brain to register "get the hell up", since on a phone, it is easy to crack the eyes enough to find the phone to his snooze, but not big and bright enough to register the time.). It was very nice to receive the refund, so I will change my star from the original "1" to a "4", because the company was quick to make it right, but not a 5 bc it doesn't work. Original review: Within 48 hours of being set, the display stopped working. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and pushed the display button and held down the display button and nothing worked. It's definitely loud, however, unless I'm already a little awake it still doesn't wake me up. I've tried everything with the attachment it comes with. Putting it under my pillow/pillow, up against something to make it rattle more and amplify the noise. Read the reviews when I bought it and they all were with someone who slept with them, which I'm guessing woke them up in turn waking up the heavy sleeper. ... show more
