  • Not perfect, but very good
Not perfect, but very good. Camera lighting is a little weak but works well if close to objects of interest. Cable is quite stiff which permits a long unsupported cantilever but clumsy going around short radius corners. Resolution is good - enough to read markings on electrical cable. Does not have image rotation function, but it is easy enough to rotate the display if it is removed from the handle. ... show more

  • Great borescope value
Only focuses to 4 inches or so. Could use a closer focusing range for close-in work. Otherwise, works well and is very handy for hard to reach areas.

  • Make my work easier and faster
Pro: Extech BR200 is quite useful for ventilation internal duct inspection and survey since it is small and light, easier for hand carry, faster to get the photo or video. Con: For larger duct size, the lighting from Extech BR200 is not enough, the photo or video is almost useless. So, I have to get other led lights taped to the camera head for better visual. I'd like to recommend to other HVAC, ventilation duct inspectors provided that there is a solution for the lighting issue. ... show more

  • Nice, some limitations, but my LCD screen died so it is useless :(
I've had one for a few years and used it mainly for looking inside walls. Its functions well although with insulation it can be hard to find your way without some empty space. This is because the focal length is probably a few cms away and if the camera has much closer to it all you get is a big blurry blob. You need some empty space to resolve what you are looking at. Unfortunately recently while using it the monitor simply went black and now it just flashes when i plug it in for a millisecond and then nothing. I think it is dead and the detachable LCD screen is not just a screen, it is part of the unit that allows it to function otherwise you can't get video out. So if it goes dead like mine, or you love the wall adapter for the screen somehow, even though you still have the boroscope camera you can't get the video from it. I wish the camera and trigger unit had the video out circuitry in it so I could still have use but alas it is dead after a few years. ... show more

  • Bore scope
Have the unit and it's true, poor pic quality, has four channels, only one works (so-so, ) horizontal hold is stuck at about 1/3 screen, Extremely complicated to use the menus, should have located the buttons on the front not the side. Instruction must be read every time you use it or you'll never get to shoot a movie on it. Locked up once where the on and off button wouldn't even work to reboot, found the tiny reset hole that finally allowed me to reboot it. ... show more

  • Blurry Image
The video image is very blurry, its advertised as having a crystal clear image but it is very far from the truth. Even in a bright area the image is not very clear it is still very blurry. When I poked it into a wall the LED lights more or less illuminated the whole area and did not focus in on a specific area, so all I could see was a dark blue screen. When I put the camera close to a water pipe it could not focus on it and all I could see was a blurry screen. However when the object you are looking is far away the image is somewhat clear, but still very grainy. I bought this camera over the Ridgid camera because it has wireless and video capture technologies, which are defintely a step up from the Ridgid, but the image is very grainy and blurry so those technologies are useless for this camera. (Side note im a licensed plumbing and heating technician). Will not buy and Extech product again. ... show more
