  • Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy
I wanted a temperature and humidity sensor for my porch that would connect to my Apple Home. And that’s what it did. Things I like, 1) no account needed to setup, 2) all I had to do was click add accessory within Apple Home and scan the sticker, 3) it works on Matter. One small con: it’s automatically setup for Celsius and I needed the Eve app to change it to Fahrenheit. ... show more

  • Worthless.. Will not stay connected to HomePod 10 feet away, battery lasts less than a month
Will not stay connected for more than an hour or so, then randomly reconnects several hours later.. Does not matter if it's in the same room 10 feet away or 20 feet away through one wall. Works great the 2-hours per day it's actually accessible, but the other 22 hours out of the day it's worthless.. I already got rid of the box so I guess i'm stuck with an $80 piece of junk. I recommend not wasting your money. EDIT/UPDATE: 29 days later and the battery already needs to be replaced. ... show more

  • UPDATED: Keeps reporting low battery even after replacing battery. Avoid!
Revising original 1-star review. After a few weeks, the issue subsided and the device has been consistently staying connected. Maybe a firmware update pushed? In any event, after giving it a chance, I'm satisfied. ----------------------- First let me say I have multiple Thread routers throughout my home and 1 quite close to the new Eve Weather. Despite this, the Eve Weather lasted a couple of days on the battery it shipped with before reporting "low battery" and displaying "32°F" and "0% humidity" in the Eve app (the display on the device itself correctly reported the temperature and humidity). Replaced the battery with a fresh one, worked fine for a couple of days, and now it's back to reporting "low battery...32°F...0%." My first generation Eve Weather (which this device replaced) worked fine until it went dead after a few years of use. I'm a loyal Eve customer with a number of their products, but the new Eve Weather is clearly not ready for "prime time." Returning this device. ... show more

  • False Low Battery error
Within 24 hours started reporting low battery randomly. The low battery status is not constant error or impacting the intend functions. I have used a voltage meter and confirmed the batteries are supplying 3v. The manufacture support via evehome.com only response, your within 30 days return. I have several thread routers that are within a few feet of the sensors. So I have set them to low power mode to increase battery life. I have several that have been exchanged and even the replacements doing the same thing. ... show more

  • Misses most basic feature of readability
I haven't had the apparent battery problems. It's sat on my desk, and it's fine for measurements, etc. It connects fine. But flatly, it's hard to read. The inverted LCD face makes the device necessary to be directly face on, or you can't read it. Most LCD screens are easy to read, but this one is the opposite. I would avoid it simply for that reason alone. If you don't need to read from the device, I guess you're good then… but you have other options. ... show more

  • Easy Setup, Works Well; Lacks a Home Screen Widget on iOS
I received the Eve Weather (Matter) sensor today. Set up using the Eve app on my iPhone was easy. The app registered the sensor and then simultaneously added the sensor to HomeKit. I can use the Eve app, the Home app, and Siri to check the temperature and humidity. All of that worked well. Inexplicably, there's no way to create a Home Screen widget displaying the temperature and humidity. The Eve app is pretty full featured and plays well with iOS. I can't understand why it doesn't support Home Screen widgets. Overall, a good device, but I'm gonna subtract one star due to the lack of widget support. ... show more

  • Horrible! Does not connect to anything.
Received the device today. After unpacking the device, I noticed that it arrived a dead battery. So, I put more money into this and purchased a new one. The the device refuses to pair with Amazon or Apple HomeKit. The degrees is in celsius and I cant change it to Fahrenheit until it is paired. Sending back. A waste of time and money. ... show more

  • Doesn’t support barometric pressure in Home Assistant
The previous version (which was just different firmware) supported Temperature, Humidity, barometric pressure, and battery level in Home Assistant over HomeKit After updating to Matter the barometric pressure data is no longer available in Home Assistant. It can still be seen in the Eve app but no longer showing up as an entity in Home Assistant. While setting up via Matter was much easier than previous versions the loss of barometric pressure in Home Assistant is not good. I contacted Eve support and was told that since Home Assistant is “beta software” it is not supported. Eve’s attitude towards Home Assistant in general has been disappointing. I’ve had several Eve devices for a couple of years now and while they’re not terrible as Matter-based competitors appear on the IOT market I’d be hard pressed to purchase another device from a company that treats Home Assistant users as a second-class citizens and has no interest in supporting it. ... show more
