Did not cool like advertised, takes much work for the little time of cool air produced… Water evaporates to quickly. Spend more time making sure reservoir is full with water, if you let it run dry, small pump will overheat and break. If pump is broken, the entire unit will need replacing. I feel if the price drops then maybe it’s worth buying, not worth it for the price listed. Sorry… ... show more

I had high hopes for this unit based on some of the reviews I read from others. But after receiving the unit I was disappointed in its performance. The air was really not that cool at all and did not help with cooling down even a small bedroom area. Also, the air only blows from the top portion of the machine and not the bottom.     • Works well, but very hard to clean
It is important for people who have never had an evaporative cooler to bear in mind that the air temperature will only be as cold as the water used. It works well and quietly in a small space. The difficulty I have with it though is that the water will become murky quickly, and as it runs with an aquarium type pump to circulate the water, it reminds me of needing to clean an aquarium. The challenge is because the pump is attached to the reservoir, you cannot remove the reservoir to scrub scummy stuff out easily. Cleaning it can be done, but drainage is challenging. I would recommend the manufacturers install a small hole with rubber plug at the bottom to accomplish this. As I am also concerned with the air QUALITY being circulated and cannot clean the tubing and filters and any other internal parts, I recommend to the purchaser that you use the cleanest water possible and do not allow the water to stand or become discolored in the slightest. I have decided to cycle the unit with distilled, dilute bleach water to see if that lessens the "swamp" concerns. I will continue to use it as I have noticed a marked drop in temperature in the small bedroom it is being used in,I just feel future buyers should be aware it requires monitoring and maintenance to keep healthy water producing healthy air. For the price, it is overall a good unit and works, though it lost a star for ease of maintenance. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I like this air cooler and it’s freezer packs that you add to make it even more cool also the water last for hours. But it is loud and after only a few weeks the water is murky and disgusting. There is no way to clean the water container or hoses properly. With 100-107 temps in Texas my A/C was working overtime. So I wanted to get something to help keep the house cool-didn’t want to burn up my compressor or pay a 500.00 light bill-I just got this today and plugged it in and already cooling off.     • What a life saver
We had to buy this to save us when the AC sucked at my dads Skilled Nursing Facility. This was a lifesaver and made a horrible situation tolerable. The features were awesome. The only thing that was odd was the shape of the compartment where the ice packs go. Other than this everything was great.

The media could not be loaded. The amount of wind that blows out is really thin, so if you're sitting in its wind span, it doesn't keep you cool. The ice packs melt in like 10 minutes on a hot day, so they are a joke, and keeping an eye on the water levels is too much responsibility, can't even relax because if the water runs out, apparently it can break the machine. And after 3 weeks it just started leaking!!! Do yourself a favor, and buy something else. ... show more
