My son's air conditioner went out. It took a few weeks of researching companies/best air conditioners before getting a new one. In the meantime, my granddaughter was complaining about how hard it was to sleep at night without it. So, I bought the Censtech Evaporative Air Cooler to see if it would help. It cooled off her room enough for her to sleep comfortably until her dad got a new one. In the meantime, it will be useful for emergencies or use on the outdoor screened-in porch. ... show more

Ordered this as a temp holdover before we upgrade our hvac system. It gets two stars because technically it works, but the air is room temp at best even with the ice packs.

This worked as a very expensive fan. Even with ice water and ice packs in the bottom, it did not perform like an air conditioner. The air that blew our was a little colder than normal, but no where near what an air conditioner would. It definitely would not be able to cool down even a small room. I returned this item and will be purchasing a window unit. ... show more

Partially my fault for not lookin at dimensions, but by how big of a room and cubic square feet it says it cools, it's a lie. Might as well be a floor cooler because it isn't even high enough to reach my couch.

This one really works! The cord is not separate, So I dont believe anyone received a machine with it missing. Maybe they are reviewing a diff item. Even tho the tank is only 1 gal, it is MORE EFFICIENT, and lasts longer than coolers with 4 gal tanks...From Experience. I also believe its made in usa, altho amazon frowns on anyone mentioning that, and probably will deny posting my comment. Cuz, China.... ... show more

    • DISAPPOINTED - SMALL AND DRIPPY
I wanted to really like this unit, but a few weeks in and I’m not so sure. Pros: - attractive design - fits nicely into any space - fan works well Cons: - small for floor use (I neglected to read dimensions and instead went by product image of the woman next to the unit… much smaller than that!) - only two vent openings move air, the rest are closed off as part of the cooling system. - cooling with ice packs didn’t make a huge difference. - water evaporation is drippy, noisy, and caused me to loose sleep bc of the continual loud drippy sounds. Had to turn off cooling mode. I’m only using this currently as a fan, not as the a/c. I’ll likely be returning. ... show more
