I use this in my basement since it gets damp when it rains, and it works amazingly! It is easy to set up - you remove it from the box, get the accessories out of the collection bin, and pop on the wheels. The wheels spin a bit, so they are a bit fiddly to get on, but they still don't take long to install (under five minutes). The collection bin is a good size, and I initially emptied it about three times a day. However, I love the option to connect a tube to have it automatically drain. The included hose was too short for my needs, but I ordered some standard clear tubing with a ½ inch interior diameter from Amazon and cut it to length. The unit now runs as needed and automatically discharges into my sump pump hole, so there is no more emptying the collection bin. The unit is also quiet and sounds like a fan running on medium so it could run in a bedroom without issues. It does heat up the room that it is placed in, so that is something to consider if it is summer. ... show more

I've used smaller units before, and they work fine bit for small rooms. This is a single, large unit that should work in any size room. Dehumidifiers seem magical when you don't know how they work. They produce a lot of water out of nowhere, but they are actually very basic devices. Dehumidifiers have a thermal pad Inside which gets freezing cold on one side, humidity collects on the cold pad and drips to the reservoir below. This is basically the same as condensation forming on a cold water bottle. Although a dehumidifier does work you should always find the cause of the high humidity. Common causes are bad window or door seals, incorrect AC settings or a water leak inside a wall. Overall the dehumidifier works perfectly and collects lots of water. ... show more

First of all, it's quiet for a dehumidifier. Actually, that's exactly what I was looking for -- our prior unit (different brand) we previously used in our bedroom was noisy and I had to turn it off at night. This unit has the typical settings, easy to adjust for specific humidity percentage, or you can set it to run continuously. Wheels make it easy to move around, if needed. I like the controls this dehumidifier offers; continuous, setpoint, or fan only. The unit comes with casters and pretty specific instructions for installing them regarding how far you should tilt the unit. I read that after installing the casters. Evidently turning the unit completely upside down is a no-no, but it did not seem to affect the operation. I put the unit in my basement which had a couple dehumidifiers running already and set the humidity to 55%. It filled the tank overnight. It's easy enough to empty. but who wants to do that every day? There is a hose adapter that will drain the water to an external location. I have a condensate pump on one of my dehumidifiers and on my AC unit so I will plan to run plastic tubing to the condensate pump instead of emptying the tank daily. Overall, I am very pleased with this dehumidifier and recommend it! ... show more

We wanted a small dehumidifier to use in our bathrooms to help reduce mold accumulation. This one seemed to be just the right size. It weighs about 30 pounds but there are casters that can be attached that make it easy to move from room to room. The built in fan has three speeds and is fairly quiet. I used the decibel meter in my phone and measured the sound level of the fan at 65 to 70 decibels. There is a small water bucket that can be easily emptied. It holds about 128 ounces. There is also a hose that can be attached if you want a continuous drain. I'm not one to read manuals but this one has some very useful information so you should probably read it before using the unit. ... show more
