I bought this top coat after seeing it recommended a lot on Reddit, and it has absolutely changed my nail polish game. I used to use a 2-in-1 base & top coat from Orly and the difference is night and day - I used to have to be extremely careful after applying the top coat so that nothing would smudge or smear (and it still inevitably would), but the Essie top coat sets so quickly and securely, locking in everything underneath. It's been over a week since I did my nails and it's only barely started to chip at the edges - in the past my nail polish would start chipping the very next day. (For reference, I paired it with the OPI Natural Nail base coat, also highly recommended.) This makes me excited to try doing my nails more often and looking into Essie polishes too. Love the brush and how easy it is to apply polish because of the brush. The Colors have been great. Love how fast it dries and the shine. It feels good. Light and my nails breath. Many other polishes don’t go on as easy, have poor brushes and harm the nails.

I use this clear top coat with any nail polish and it gives a gel like look. It makes my polish last way longer and provides a thicker finish. It spreads really easy and dries fast. I know this is step 2 for gel nail polish but it works on regular nail polish as well and really makes your nails shine and give them a gel like look. It dries quickly. I have no complaints. I don't write a lot of reviews, but when I find something that actually lives up to the hype, I want to share with others. I do water aerobics, have a hot tub, and the chlorinated water is rough on my nails. They were peeling and chipping. I didn't want to do gel manicures due to the UV exposure. I tried dip nails, but the prep involved took layers and layers off my nail bed which only made things worse. I kept seeing articles about Essie Gel Couture and how easy it is to use and that it actually lasts up to two weeks so I figured it was worth a try and would be much less expensive than salon manis. I honestly wasn't expecting it to last, but was so happy when after two classes and a hot tub soak, my nails still looked great. There was some fading of the color at the tips so I applied another coat of the top coat and got close to two weeks out of first and subsequent manicures. Plus, this color, Fab Florals, is truly beautiful. I have already bought two other colors. "Pinned Up" seems thinner and requires 3 coats, but I'm looking forward to trying the "Embossed Lady" when it arrives. ... show more
