I don't know if you've ever tried to find essie's "Ballet Slippers" in a store, but it's almost impossible to find. The slot that says "Ballet Slippers" is virtually guaranteed to be empty, and it's easy to know why because it is such a beautiful, all-purpose shade. When I returned home from a recent vacation and found that it was missing from my toiletry kit, I wasted no time in ordering a new bottle. This is my favorite nail polish. One coat gives a subtle transparent purple tint, and two is a beautiful lilac color. Goes on easily and smoothly, and dries quickly.

    • Only polish I wear

I disposed of all other brands a few years ago. Most of the time the polish doesn’t last as long as they claim especially if you wash dishes and clean. However, it does last longer than all other brands I used. It also never chips so badly that I have to hide my nails. Often only obvious to me. The trick is to put all coats on very thinly and only two coats of color, never three. It’s super easy to take off with just regular nail polish remover. I never have to scrub or file the color off. The polish makes my nails stronger and they grow longer. The clear bottle lasted a couple of years and that’s with using it weekly. The color will last me longer because I have so many colors To switch off with. I have used Essie almost my whole life. I was worried when she sold the company but they have only improved it. There are some colors, like cantaloupe that I wish they’d resurrect. This color wool me over is really nice it’s a tan shade, a tightly darker than my skin tone. It’s what I was looking for. Best polish for those who can’t wait for polish to dry. It has a really good brush compared to Sally Hanson polish. As an older woman I find that the color selection is limited.
