Pops up easily. Gave up on putting it in the bag at the end. It comes with a strap to cinch it tight. I tow it behind my snowmobile in a covered sled anyway. The shack seems well made. I use a 9000 btu buddy heater and it got plenty warm when it was -20 wind chill. Roomy in there with grey interior and nets to keep your mittens. Having an actual door is the best thing I believe. Got this after a purchase of a 650XD fell through. This this is giant!! I also have a 450. Each area inside is just slightly smaller than a 450, but the total area is huge. I'm 5'10" and my brother is 6'1" he can stand in the middle of either, but we both have to duck a bit in the very middle. I've used it for 2 ice fishing trips and 1 winter camping trip. Held up great in the wind, I buy extra tie downs and anchors anyways. Had a green big buddy heater that kept it very warm while -7°F outside. Going to spray with sealer on the spring. It did rain a bit but, nothing really seeped in, I'm just cautionary. Did get some good condensation the first overnight run. Second time we used a fan and a PVC pipe for a vent under the skirt and it was way less. Just a thought. I would definitely buy it again... And I do get it to fit back into the bag every time. ... show more

I bought this so I could go camping with my son in the winter. We slept in it 3 nights with no heat source and were warm and cozy with a good sleeping pad and winter bag. This shelter is well made and has lots of room. I plan to add a heat source to take it to the next level

The 650xd as a shelter is awesome the wife and I have room for days. Setup took a little to get use to sense there is more hubs to deal with popping in and out compared to the 949i I had previously. One of my two complaints I have are the zippers and this could fix its self over time when the fabric loosens up with use but the fabric is so tight that the zippers are a real pain in the @33 to open and close they always get hung up. I have had it out several times now ice fishing and everyone I fish with including myself struggles with them. My only other issue I have is the carry bag sucks it should be like otters where you can open it and put the bag around the shelter instead of having to stuff the shelter into it. Instead they made it "oversized" but unless you have the 650xd put together perfectly while freezing trying to get off the lake you struggle. Just trying to wrap the strap around the middle takes time because they barley give you enough strap length to reach around. This usually requires someone bear hugging the shelter while another person reaches around with the strap to sinch it together in hopes you squished it down enough to fit somewhat easy into the bag. the process to bag the shelter id recommend two people one to hold the shelter while the other slips the bag over the bottom and then you have to basically inch it up over the shelter while bouncing it to make progress. All in all I am satisfied with the product and would purchase it again. The issues are just a slight pain and are something I would expect to be fixed on the next model. ... show more

Plenty of room for two cots , two chairs a table and fishing for 3 people or fishing for 5 people with no cots . It sets up just as fast as any other outbreak model and is very tough and durable .
