Solid 2-inch-thick brown plastic frame surrounds a off-white dial, with black metal hands and covered with a glass lens. I had an outdoor clock for quite a few years. I would bring it in during the winter but I liked having it out in the summer when I was swimming. Over the years the material they used for the face of the clock (some type of plastic?) started to curl and it impeded the hands of the clock. I tried gluing it back down but it didn't work. So I finally tossed it and got this one. I've only had it a short time so I don't know how many years it will hold up but so far so good. It does get direct, afternoon sun so that may eventually have an effect. I like the second hand for when I'm testing my pool water and have to check things at 20 seconds, 30 seconds, etc. I do like having the humidity meter and the thermometer, although since the late afternoon sun is directly on this clock the temperature is not accurate at those times. ... show more

What can I say? Well made, quiet, and keeps great time. The little thermometer and barometer are a nice little addition, we'll see how they really work once summer hits.

Like the clock and the humidity gauge works good in my bathroom. The only downer is that the thermometer won't go below 70 degrees...at all. It goes up on a hot day but stays at 70 or more on a freezing cold night.

I’ve had two of these. I broke the first one. The second one worked for awhile, then the thermometer broke, and now it isn’t keeping time even though it has a good battery. I’ve had enough, buying another brand. Look elsewhere.

The first year was great. The clock is stylish and light weight. We have had ours for a year and it has stopped working. Has always been used in a covered outdoor location (shouldn't matter since it's sold as an outdoor clock). Lately the time has been falling hours behind even with brand new, brand name batteries. Now it basically just stopped working. Good a good year of it. Would be upset if I paid more for this, but I got what I paid for. Would not buy again - I'll invest more in something more durable and of higher quality. ... show more

    • La Cross 29005 Outdoor clock with temperature and humidity functions
We've only had this clock for a couple of weeks, but it has kept great time and the thermometer and relative humidity functions are seemingly accurate when I compare their readings with a more professional weather station that I also have. The humidity function only gives ranges of "humid", "normal" and "dry" instead of actual % readings, but where the needle is within those readings provide you with a probable range. The temperature readings are with actual numbers. At this price, it seems like a pretty decent clock. Time, (no pun intended) will speak as for its durability. We have it outside, but protected from rain and sun, so it should last a while. ... show more
