The unit actually works pretty good, pairs with iphone every time, very responsive sounds decent,wished it had 4v preouts though. Unit only lasted about a week the buttons still light up but the screen doesn’t come on. Tried resetting the unit and the fuse is good so had to return it

    • It really is amazing. My 2nd one bought.
I bought the first one, months ago, for my 2012 expedition. I also bought a cheaper 10.1 android head unit for my work truck 2004 F250(half price). This unit connects to android auto, without touching my phone. I always had to toggle Bluetooth off/on with the work truck radio to get it to connect with that radio. You can also just use your phone as a hotspot on 5g (the radio is 5g capable and comes with the antennas. Install an app like IPTVsmarters, and stream your iptv service to your car (great for tailgating 9r bonfires). 5g is a great way to circumvent android auto/carplay as well using maps, YouTube video etc. This radio could possibly let you watch live sports while driving. Be very careful. This android software 'suite' is so much better than the cheaper radio.. I have a LOT more customizations than on the other radio. After seeing it's reliability in my personal vehicle, I bit the bullet and bought this one for my work truck, and I'm glad i did. Make sure you add the front driver camera (accepts up to a 32gb microSD card) and backup camera to your cart before you hit checkout (if you might be into those kinda things. Amazon will reduce the price of those items from your cart at checkout and you will get them for free. I dont recommend the OBII scanner. It seems to be poorly conceived and won't connect seamlessly, however I havent honestly troubleshooted why, yet. The 6gb Ram and chip in this unit is crazy fast, compared to a 2gb ram model. You won't be waiting on loadings. Updates can take a min and need wifi. You will want to update it immediately. My recent purchase updated quickly to how my older unit's updates. You can set the unit to completely shut off after an hour, so kee0ing your connections to wifi or Bluetooth stay with the un8t if you make a l9t of shotlrt time stops like doordash, delivery, pest control, lawn care, etc. The 2012 expedition had a true double-din opening, and required a bracket style install kit. Screw the brackets to the side of this unit with the screws this radio provides, then screw it into the dash. Ford has a weird can-bus electrical system to control the steering wheel buttons. I re-used the older radio harness i bought from crutchfield.com. (if you have a complicated car stereo system, they can help. i tied the sw1 and sw2 wires to the canbus wire (educated trial and error) and i was able to program the imputs into the radio via setting menus. I have steering wheel controls (ford has a completely different circuit style....plugs not associated with the radio wiring for answering calls or using the microphone button on the steering wheel, so) I just use the buttons on the radio for that. The 2004 f250 had a din-and-half size hole for a radio. I used a dremel tool to take an inner lip off the dash hole, and it dropped right in without and extra things to buy (other than the connector to attach vehicle factor plug to the radio harness). I trimmed only enough needed to shoe horn it in. These radios certainly dont need a bevel. Truck doesnt have steering wheel controls, wiring was crazy easy. Buy the car's specific plug for your car's factory radio plug-in, then buy the iSO plugs by redwolf. Soldier the wires and don't forget the size appropriate heat shrink. That keeps interference noise low. The radio allows tilting to it's screen, to help see it better. There are several adjustments when plugging the screen into the unit to have the screen higher or lower based on where the buttons on your dash are.     • Installed in 2002 Ford Excursion and it works...but....
First off...I kept it so I must of decided it was well worth the money because I am a tight wad with my money. The screen scratches pretty easy but not really noticable with the unit is on. It does NOT come with the ability to put a SIM in it and connected directly to Verizon like it stated in one of the comparison screens. If you want to connect to cellular you must hotspot through your phone. Android auto wireless does work just fine but is really not needed since the head unit is android already. I dont even use the android auto feature after searching high and low for the cheapest android auto wireless solution I could find. Unit is quick enough to not be a problem. The backup camera Eonon sells is very low quality but works. the OBD2 reader is even lower quality and would not work with my Ford truck. It takes some getting used to it as it does alot in a very small attractive package. I do like it and my steering wheel controls worked wonderfully and easily with it. For the price, it was a good buy. We will see how it is for longevity...only had it one week so far. ... show more

    • The microphone does not work well at all.
The microphone provided works horrible for phone calls; other than that, it works okay. This was a cool upgrade for my dad's Tundra, but every time he makes a phone call, he has to switch to his AirPods or speaker because the microphone is too sensitive to other noises in the car for the person on the other side of the call to understand anything. He sounds like he is trapped in a dryer and talking on the phone. I only recommend it to those who do not make phone calls at all. ... show more

Installed in a 2008 Ford E250 van, with stock speakers in front doors only. Did a little trimming to existing radio trim to make fit Scosche kit (FD1330B) was returned, didn't work. Made up a bracket bolted to sides of radio that goes under existing truck bracket under radio. Had to remove dog house to install, but lots of room to work with with it out. Wifi and gps antenna, I routed out knock out panel on dash and the sit at bottom of windshield. It fits well, and the large screen does not block vents or controls. Screen then can be turned toward driver, making visibility very good. Have no problem with screen brightness during the day, at night, screen can be a little right, haven't figured out how to change, yet. GPS works well, I also installed Waze. First trip, phone rang, and sound quality was very good. I didnt know how to change from kph to mph, so I emailed company, they sent me a video on how to do it. Sound quality and radio reception are good enough for me. There is a lot to configure for wireless connections. My phone is half the problem, it will turn off hotspot after I leave the truck. Radio shuts off the wifi and the connection when I shut off truck. I have learned how to reconnect each time, still working on it. I listen to internet radio (Starfm.de) , seams to work pretty well, with an occasional short 3-5 second drop out, but I think that's the phone. Comes with a clear screen protector that it says to remove after install, I left it on to protect the screen. So far I am very happy with the operation, due for some long trips, we will see how it goes. ... show more
