This is a good ionizer, six years, it's still running! It seems up the air. Great room smells great! Knox dust intelligence down. We have our sitting on a countertop.In the corner in the kitchen. I was looking for another air filter because I have guests with allergies, so I went to buy another one of the same. I have to units like this one, I bought the first one at Walmart, and the second on Amazon. I've had them both for over six years and they are still working fine. And it's been six years without buying a single filter. Now, you need to wash the blades from time to time by hand, and they take a long time to dry (the manufacturer recommends to wait 24 hours). I do as much drying as I can with a soft cloth and shake it well, and a few hours seem to do the trick. I wanted to buy replacement blades, so I don't have to wait, but couldn't find them anywhere. Still, after six years they are not as shiny, but seem to work as well. Then it has this wire in the back which you are supposed to clear just pulling a wand in and out. That never seemed to work well. I just pass my fingertips over it covered with some fort clear cloth, and that works great. When there is debris on the wire, it makes a very strong and annoying noise, but wiping the wire (no water!) does the trick. It is completely silent, and only if you get really close to it you will feel a soft breeze coming out of it. How do I know it's working? The blades get really dirty, that shows that it is catching a lot of stuff. Bot most importantly, it ended my morning sinus headaches. Worth the money. Please, note: I also bought a smaller unit for my office at work, and works the same, but the blades don't get remotely as dirty. While at home I have carpet and three cats, and my family is not exactly diligent about cleaning, my office has tile flooring and gets cleaned regularly, which I think is the reason some reviewers didn't see much of a result. The filter is not miraculous, and gets dust on all its surfaces. It won't make dusting unnecessary, but it improves the quality of the air. ... show more

I got this to help with cleaning Bacteria and Pollen. Works great. I would have given it 5 Stars if it had a better air flow.

    • This ionic pro is not efficient
I had three ionic pros for years and every week I had to clean them because they attracted so much dust. The new ones that I purchased collect very little dust and one of them broke. I believe they’re by a different company and I highly recommend that you do not buy them.

Changed Review from one star to three stars. Unit is not a complete piece of non-functional garbage, yet lacks the quality of the older models (200 sq. ft.). The removable and cleanable blade is an excellent feature, however, my opinion is the blade to the 500 sq. ft. model is of lesser quality. The blade appears to be manufactured out of a different metal and does not clean the air like the older models with the super shiny blade. The machine is a bit louder (static sound) even with cleaning. After removing the unit from an extremely dirty environment, the machine still smells new, which is impressive considering the air quality it was residing within was absolutely disgusting. It's not a machine I can highly recommend but it's not a complete piece of junk either. If you're looking for a top notch air purifier this is probably not the unit for you. Amazon seems to send me used/junk items which is extremely disappointing to say the least. If you don't like the unit you can always return it. Hopefully this review was helpful.
