Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The bike is lauded for its sturdy build, smooth driving, and good battery life. Numerous users noted its solid construction, hinting at the excellent quality despite its weight. Most users seem to enjoy the ride it provides, however, they clearly mention the necessity of adding certain accessories like a comfortable seat and saddlebags. The speed of the bike is also praisable where the settings can be adjusted according to the individual's preference.

Pros

  • 👍 Sturdy and well-constructed
  • 👌 Smooth drive and good suspension
  • 🚴‍♂️ Great battery longevity
  • 🚀 Adjustable speed settings

Cons

  • 💼 Bike is considerably heavy, even when folded
  • ⏰ Battery drains quickly at top speed
  • 🚧 Subpar brakes performance
  • 🧮 Lacks a detailed battery percentage meter

Should I Buy It?

Yes. While the bike has minor issues, such as its weight and subpar braking system, the consensus is that its pros significantly outweigh its cons. With its reasonable price, solid construction, and good battery life, it's a worthy investment for daily commute or leisurely rides. Do note, you may need to invest a bit in some accessories to improve comfort.

  • Bigger than I thought, but very nice riding bike
This is my first entry into ebikes. I have nothing else to compare it to other than my standard mountain bike. Here's what I think: Pros: 1. It's very fast. I've gotten it up to 32 mph on a flat paved trail 2. It's mostly assembled. You just have to install handlebars, seat post, fenders and pedals 3. The range is decent. I went for a long ride totaling 20+ miles, with 2 bars left on the battery meter 4. Comfortable to ride. Takes bumps very well 5. Has rear rack, head light and tail light included 6. Is actually okay to pedal like a regular bike without using the motor (good if you drain the battery) 7. Folding option allows additional flexibility for storage 8. It looks really cool. I've had random people comment on the looks 9. Price is very good for the quality and features 10. The disk brakes stop the bike well 11. The battery locks inside the frame making the battery harder to steal off the bike Cons: 1. The bike is bigger than I expected. This is not a small compact commuter bike! (See photo comparing size against a standard mtn bike with 26" tires) 2. It's hefty! Like 65 pounds. Even with the battery removed, it's still heavy 3. The handlebar riser stem is insanely tall for some reason. And it can telescope even taller! Did they make this bike for Shaq? I cut 2" off to bring it down to a more normal height 4. Folding it in half is an awkward effort. Don't expect to do this quickly 5. On hills, you are pedaling to help the motor rather than the motor helping you to pedal. The motor isn't strong enough to take you up hills under battery only, so you must pedal to get up steep hills 6. The computer settings aren't the most apparent, and the instructions don't do a great job of explaining what each setting does or how it affects the ride Overall, I'm very happy with this bike. The cons above aren't really anything bad, just some things to keep in mind or get used to. And yes, I've ridden this bike without using any electric assist just to see how hard it is to pedal. Surprisingly, it's not hard to pedal at all! I even pedaled up some medium hills without too much effort. Steep hills are another matter- it only has 1 front ring gear so you wouldn't want to pedal up a steep hill without the motor helping you. One thing I recommend is adding a smartphone holder and rearview mirror to the handlebar. In all, you will not be disappointed with this bike! ... show more

  • Great bike amid communication challenges
Pros: The bike is very nice, sturdy, well made. It’s huge, my husband is 6’1” and it’s a great size for him. I’m 5’2” and it’s hard to get on and off but once I’m up and riding it doesn’t feel heavy and I can easily pedal without a problem. The controls are easy enough to figure out. When folded its again cumbersome to move and somewhat heavy for me, but ok for my husband. Overall great bike but if you don’t have a big strong partner to handle it for you when need to load or unload from a car or in our case our boat it could be a problem. However, you can get the dimensions from the description and it was not a surprise to us. Cons: why I didn’t give it 5 stars was because it was rough to communicate with customer care. Our bike came with a damaged battery, the bike seemed bran new so not sure how they missed the damaged battery. I contacted customer care and they responded right away, the problem was that their responses did not reflect they had actually read any of my emails. They kept asking for pictures and information we had already sent. I would say something and they would respond as if they didn’t understand anything I said at one point I thought maybe I was communicating with a bot it was strange. Eventually I got them to agree to send a new battery. I like the bike so I was hoping for a resolution that would be beneficial for both parties. It’s an expensive bike and I wanted it to work the way it was supposed to. They agreed to send us a new battery, due to the time restrains we had they agreed (after insistance from us) to fed ex the battery to us from CA instead of China. We got it just in time before we left on our trip so I was happy. It was a difficult start but in the end they did what was right and we have been enjoying the bike without a problem. ... show more

  • Buyer BEWARE!
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this ENGWE Upgraded 750w EBike here on Amazon from what I thought was ENGWE, however, BigFishSportsTech owns the ENGWE Store here on Amazon, even though they’re just a third party seller. I’m an older gentleman and I use this Engwe EP-2 ProE-bike solely for my short commute to and from work, at a reasonably slow speeds , on the smooth cement sidewalk, and only in the good weather. It’s never been in the rain. After a few months, as I was pedaling the bike down my front walkway going about 4 mph, when I hit the brakes the bike leaned forward a bit and the entire stem and handlebars snapped off at the weld and I was fortunate enough to put my feet down so that I didn’t completely lose control and crash. Even at a slow speed I was slightly injured and I’ve included pics of the frame and my injuries. I provided photos of my injuries, and the defective equipment, first to the manufacturer, by email because it’s a manufacturer’s warranty issue. I was told they aren’t the sellers of the bikes even though they are the manufacturer. So at this point I contacted Amazon directly and explained the issue. After almost a week of back and forth with Engwe and now Amazon I’m told I need to contact BigFishSportsTech who sold me the e-bike. I sent them the pics of the bike and my injuries and the run around continued. Amazon gave them not ONE 48hour response window, but MULTIPLE, over the course of the rest of the month, and the seller failed to remedy my situation. After waiting weeks, I finally escalated the situation to an A-Z coverage claim. It states on the claim page that they have 7 days to make a decision on my refund, from the date I last sent information about the claim. 10 days later I still haven’t heard back from them. Clearly Amazon doesn’t want to lose this scam, fraud as a seller and is conspiring with them to commit fraud like this against victim-consumers. Sort the reviews by low stars and look at the other people they have done this too. Especially this year. Why is AMAZON allowing this fraud, and committing MORE fraud by not replying to my A-Z claim within THEIR timeframe of 7days? It’s just scam upon scam at this point. Now it’s been weeks and weeks since the defective equipment failed and physically hurt me, and I started my case, first with the manufacturer, then the seller and now Amazon. The brakes went the day after the handlebars broke off at the weld and I couldn’t put in a new claim about the brakes yet because they refuse to address the handlebar situation. *Now, finally 10/110/23 after 10 days into my supposed 7 day A-Z claim, seller sent a message (last heard from before this on 9/27) saying he sent the first part and someone signed for it. However when you run the tracking number it says it was left in a mailbox? I didn’t receive ANYTHING and I don’t see anywhere on the tracking that anyone had to sign for anything. This is more stall-tactics for the seller to buy time and scam more people. Amazon ordered them to send tracking weeks ago, with no reply. I think at this point, a class-action suit is in order. Buyer beware. If something goes wrong, you’re stuck with it. And at the very least, you’ll be out your transportation for weeks if not months trying to get them to honor a warranty. Amazon use to care more about their customers and customer satisfaction, times are changing. I’d have been happy if they just took this hunk of junk back and refunded my money.
