  • Easy and effective breastmilk catcher
I was impressed by the suction power of a wear in breastmilk collector. The product was easy to use and a great aid in catching and drawing out some of the extra letdown from one breast while the baby was nursing on the other. A bit tricky to pour out the milk into a separate container, though, as the angle and larger width of the opening requires care to pour accurately. ... show more

  • Overpriced for what it is
Purchased for road trip to use on one side while nursing on the other. Baby is 7 months. Left on during and for 1 hour after feed and had 5-6 drops of milk in total. Sitting in the car, I had to readjust and reattach multiple times, but easy to use. Used around house a few times while nursing other side and had less than half an ounce. For $50 I wanted to love this thing. Compared to the cost of the Haakaa, this thing is significantly overpriced for what it is . Its much more discreet and not as bulky, which was why I stopped using the Haakaa. Would have been more useful at the earlier months when milk supply is ample. For me, I never had an oversupply and never leaked or had a significant letdown on the other side while nursing. An electric pump with stronger suction works better. If you have an oversupply, or letdown easily, I'd go with a cheaper silicone brand and save the $. You don't need the name brand and fancy packaging, which is what you're paying for. Plus they never go on sale. Its easy to clean, however when drying, water pools into the "release" button and can never fully dry. I had to shake out multiple times while on drying rack to shake out water that accumulated inside and spend an extra 15 seconds balancing it to drain properly. Not a deal breaker, but for $50 that stands out to me. Comes in two pieces. The white outer skeleton is unnecessary and adds to the weight. (Probably useful if you fill up the cup, which never happened with me.) Going back, I would have invested in cups for my electric pump instead. (Like Freemie etc. ) ... show more

  • Game changer
I am so happy I got this! I am using it with my third child, and I so wish I had it with my first two. I am a stay at home mom and exclusively breast feed, so I struggle to have any milk left over to pump. I didn’t think I’d ever be able to build up a freezer milk supply. This lets me take advantage of my letdown, and I’ve been able to catch around 6 oz a day with only that! The Elvie doesn’t have terribly strong suction, but it hasn’t mattered for me since I am using it strictly for my letdown. It is also super quick and easy to clean. Wayyyy easier than cleaning all those fiddly breast pump parts. I truly love having this product. ... show more

  • Good milk catcher but broke in 2 months. Elvie didn't respond to warranty call
It's not strong enough to be a manual pump but it's a Very good milk catcher for those early weeks when you leak, especially as you sleep. You just have to make sure to press it to apply a little suction and use a snug bra to keep it in place. Make sure to empty the milk into a container in the refigerator every 4 hrs or so for milk safety. My worst complaint though is that the slit at the top button (which you press to release suction) developed a crack/rip in ~2 months and when I poured the milk out into a container, some of it spilled out as a result. I expected better from a >$50 product, so in addition to shelling out even more money for an emergency replacement, Elvie never got back to me about a replacement even though this was well within the 90-day warranty. Very dissapointing. ... show more

  • Great alternative to a Haakaa
I love this. I have breast fed two babies and I found this more comfortable than a haakaa. It sits well in a bra because of its shape. It is made of thick material. Only flaw is that after a year of continuous use, the silicone tore at the top making it not suction to the breast. I had to repurchase another but was glad to because it was so easy to use. The suction is just enough to get the job done and doesn’t hurt like other alternatives. I would recommend this to new mommies. ... show more
