I am one person so I can throw a little chicken in there and some vegetables and let it cook. The meat comes out great, and all I have to clean this one little pot. Bought this for single-serving meals. It is big enough to fit that much food, but the small size does not allow proper cooking in normal slow-cooker timeframes. I think the problem is the small volume which means there is a large surface area for the volume causing too-rapid cooling. It does heat well from the bottom, but that does not translate to properly cooked things like vegetables or beans. My 3-1/2 quart slow cooker has no problem with this when filled, but that's a lot of food for one. The larger size means lower surface area per volume which retains heat better throughout. There is likely a minimum volume size for proper slow-cooker cooking, and 1.5 quarts is not it. It does work fine for heating pre-cooked foods, just not for actual cooking. Maybe a 2 or 2-1/2 quart model would be large enough, but I don't know. The control is nice with settings for off, low, high and warm. What is missing is an indicator light to show when the unit is on. Without that, it is easy for it to be left on when not intended or to not be on when intended. Adding a light would increase the cost a bit, but it would be a good addition. Compact size. The white version looks very nice on the counter. Doesn't take up much space. The price is very attractive, but not really if you intend to use this for actual cooking. ... show more
