This is a great product, don't let the cleaning thing detour you. Hot dogs are greasy so the plastic isn't so easy to clean and doesn't come apart. The rollers will wipe clean buy not real easy to get too. Still, hot dogs taste GREAT, done perfectly in one cycle. Don't run two cycles, it's too much and if you have buns in, you might take those out a little ahead of time so they aren't bread crumbs. Bottom line is once you get the hang of it.... 4 great hot dogs and 4 great buns in about 15 minutes! ... show more

I always wanted one of these and reading different reviews on it at first made me skeptical but I gave it a try and I am so glad I did! I love this thing so far, it is so easy to use that it’s funny and it cooks your dogs in no time. Now after you clean it before first use it will give you a burning smell during your first dogs but after that it’s smooth sailing! As you can see in the pictures, you can put 4 buns in the little oven part, this doesn’t look real cheap and puts you in the mind of a little toaster oven. You can use this little guy anywhere in your house if you have a craving for a good dog and he cooks them up really well ... show more

Does a great job cooking the hot dogs. The bun warmer is basic, but ok. One star off for being awkward to clean, but I think making parts removable for washing would have made the machine much more expensive so it's no big deal.

So this hot dog machine is flimsy. The first one came broken so I sent it back and received another one. I read a lot of reviews about this rollin dog machine. One stood out a lady said don’t man handle. Leave the lid up while in use and basically step by step instructions. Plus her do’s and dont’s. I payed attention. I Love this machine. My favorite dog is with smoked sausage links. And 4 buns fit perfectly on the bottom tray. And it does need to be cleaned while still warm while the rollers are still rolling. So much easier. Likely the cheapest-made product I have ever regretted buying. There were no instructions how to assemble the spring-loaded grate with the front cover. Was pure luck the tab didn't break as I eased them into place. The drip trays are a joke. The top drip tray is too narrow as made and fell out repeatedly. I eased the hem margin on one side out flat and ground off just enough to get it to fit and stay in order to be able to ust it at all. I see many other users had this same problem, as well as the tendency for this unit to turn the buns into crunchy breadsticks. You must turn the buns every so often to keep them from getting WAY overdone. The rollers have too much of a gap between them and a normal hot dog just about fell through. Did not have any problems with the center being cold as I like mine well done anyway. Just a very poorly designed unit that is made very cheaply and with NO regard to quality control. First the good... It cooks very well. Rollers can be turned on without heat for easier cleaning. Bun warmer works well, buns toasty on outside and kept soft in the center. The bad The drip pan does not fit well. Keeps falling off the holding tabs. Will not hold 4 regular sized buns 3 at most. There is a way to turn off rollers, but not the heat. The heat is on a timer which is very hard to turn off by hand. With no way to turn off heat and drip pan not fitting I can not recommend this product as the best way to cook hot dogs. ... show more

I bought this product solely for taking on ice fishing trips and to leave at the cabin. I got it and couldn't even wait for the first trip and used it right away. I will say that i was impressed way more than i thought i would. i threw on some pre cooked Johnsonville cheddar brats, and this thing cooked them up very even and quick. Not to mention the bun toaster worked perfect for buns. The guys on the ice fishing trip laughed at me for bringing this, but after the trip were talking about getting one. I mean, there's only a thousand warning labels telling you that while you're cooking, the top lid has to stay open, but apparently several reviewers have missed the thousand labels. This thing is super cheap, but it works. It cooks hot dogs very quickly and it's actually pretty quick and easy to clean with just some mild soapy water and a cloth. I didn't have any problems with warped trays or anything like that. Apparently I'm not grabbing the door with 60 lbs of force when I open it. Definitely run it for 10 minutes before you use it because the smoke on the bottom element for the buns is horrible on the initial burn off. After the smoke is gone, it never returns. Just remember. This thing is super super cheap, but it does actually work. Just follow the instructions, keep it clean, and don't man handle it to death, and it'll work just fine. It definitely beats getting out the gas grill in the snow. And cooking a hot dog in water... please. The only mild complaint I have is that the timer dial is what turns on the heating elements. If you want the heat to stop, your best bet is to unplug it. Trying to force the dial back to zero seems like it would be an instant break. It clearly does not want to move any faster than it's going to move on its own, and I'm not going to force it. Just remember, if the timers ticking, the heating element is on and if there's no food on the top rollers, they're going to start smoking very quickly. ... show more
