First of all, it looks nice, is sturdy enough, and... after a lot of finagling... it works as advertised. I sat out on my new deck last night, gazing into the flames, feeling a little warmth, and thoroughly enjoying myself. There are some things to know however: 1. I downloaded the pdf of the manual ahead of time, so I was pretty well acquainted with it when the fire pit finally arrived (more about that later). The manual indicated that there were adjustable leveling feet on the underside of the bowl... there are no leveling feet and it looks like there never were. Your surface needs to be level ahead of time. Thankfully, no problem for me there. 2. The gas line. Issues on this front. First of all, the hose provided was faulty... it leaked from where the flexible hose connected to the brass connector. I had my bubble solution and my gas sniffer out and it took a LONG time to finally figure out where the leak was. The 1-800 number for Elementi is useless... it rings a couple times and hangs up on you. I tried calling Envelor (the entity that I bought it from) but they didn't answer their phone. So, I was forced to go out and spend $80 on a new hose since we were too anxious to enjoy our fire pit to wait. This made me grumpy. 2b. More gas line. This is a true design flaw: where the gas line attaches to the bowl (see pic)... it forces the flexible line to crimp as it hits the ground. It's either too low on the bowl or the angle out is wrong, but this would be a real issue in some locations. I was able to drill a hole in my gas shut-off access panel (I did it in a way so that there's no problem in opening it enough to shut off the line). If you set it flat on a hard surface, you will need to shim it up a bit to relieve the strain on the flexible hose of the gas line to prevent damage. Remember, you don't have those lovely adjusting feet that the manual promised. 3. The cementatious color. It's a very smooth surface and the color is kind of a primer gray without variation. I'm assuming that it will weather and/or take a masonry stain, but it's not what I was imagining at first. Nevertheless, the finish was pretty much flawless, so this isn't really a complaint as much as it is an observation. One other observation about the finish is that I had to roll the bowl on its side to check the gas connections for leaks and it didn't harm it at all. Of course, I laid down cardboard and packing materials to cushion it and had my son there to have hands on it... we were careful... but I was happy that we didn't crack the cement while tipping it. 4. Delivery time. It just took a long time to get it. We were originally promised the first week of January, but it ended up being delayed until February 13. I complained to Amazon, and Envelor responded after a couple of days each time explaining it was on a slow boat from China, in choppy seas, there was a blizzard in New Jersey.... all of this true, I suppose and it wasn't really their fault. Still, had I known about the delivery issue ahead of time, I might have looked at a different supplier. (At least the shipping was free, not always the case with others). Overall, though, I can't actually complain about Envelor. They did their best. Will they help me with the faulty gas line when they finally get my messages? Who knows... ... show more

We needed to upgrade our fire pit and chose this model for it's looks. Super pleased with the quality of the product and the performance now that I've used it for a few weeks. It came very well packaged and had everything I needed to adapt it to my existing gas line. I ordered the circular wind guard and am very happy with it also. This unit is designed to connect to an external natural gas source via a hose leading from the fire pit to the gas source. I didn't like the look of the hose crossing the deck and this seemed like a tripping hazard to me. I was able to do a little re-plumbing and now everything is tucked away inside. (the fire pit is hollow underneath) I think this unit is rated at 45,000 BTU's; I wish it was more but it puts out pretty good heat for us. We live in the PNW, close to the water, so the nights can be pretty cool. If there's no wind it's great, with a bit of wind though, it's not enough ... show more

    • Not concrete, made of fiberglass with a thin concrete layer over top. Low quality
Really disappointing quality. We are going to keep it and use it because of our timelines and lack of other items on the market, but I was expecting a large heavy cast concrete item. I have potted planters that are more substantial. This is thin, lightweight (I can pick it up myself with one person, and hollow. I suspect wall thickness is about 1/2" of which 50% is the fiberglass. I would pay $500 to 750 for this, not $1500. If I could have seen it in person first I would have not bought it. ... show more

I rarely write reviews...who has the time? But I just couldn’t resist this opportunity. I’ve been waiting to redo my slate patio before purchasing a gas fire bowl. Strolling through Restoration Hardware I ran into the fire pit of my dreams but it was $4,000 and only 36”. I went to Amazon to see if they sold them and found this! 42”, same width around the rim that I liked so much on the RH one (so you can place a drink on it), larger version and 1/3 of the price. It took a very long time to actually receive the pit because I live on the East Coast and it came freight from the West Coast HOWEVER well worth the price and time it took to get here. ... show more

Looks great, plenty of flame from the included burner. Not too difficult to hook up, definitely a two person job. I had a professional hook up/ install a gas connection to my house gas line. I love it and would recommend it. High quality materials and parts.

Just hooked it up to the natural gas line and nothing flowed out of the fire pit. still waitng for a new gas valve that i need to install into the fire pit myself. I may have to still return it.

Great fire pit! Looks exactly like the RH one that is triple the price. They could send more rocks as it covers a very thin single layer, but likely could order more.
