  • [edit of review] Beautiful, snazzy, tasteful, cheap. Assembly/disassembly is TEDIOUS.
Color: Restoration Bronze/Amber Shade
Quick edit here since I have bought four more of these since my first one, obviously I love it. I'll say again that it looks like it should cost at least four times as much as it does. Unfortunately, assembly/disassembly continues to be its only weak point.. It took 2-3 fairly capable guys an hour or two to get these very fussy threaded pipe sections screwed together just right on each lamp.. But once it's done, it's done, unless you have to take it apart again at some point. Also I have grown to like the retro 3-way mechanism more (get a 3-way LED bulb!) as I have gotten less enchanted with smart bulbs. Most people just want to walk up to the darn light and turn the switch.. Having to futz around with a phone or get Alexa to hear you right just isn't any value added for most people in most situations, and if their manually switching the light screws up the "smart" function, it's not so smart after all. (Of course MY lights are smart, changing color and brightness and white color tempterature etc, because I'm a nerd.) This torchiere is elegant and looks great. My perfect balance between fancy and plain. It's pretty obviously a reproduction, but handsomely designed and constructed, and wonderfully cheap. It looks pure black to me, with tiny subtle rings of gold around the pleasantly substantial base. It arrives as a series of tubes (like the internet!) with long and fragile threaded joints. You'll want some WD-40. Even with that helpful lubricant liberally applied, there's one joint I can't get all the way screwed together. Other than this ridiculous overthreading, assembly is easy: one base, five tubes, one top piece, one nicely frosted shade. The tubes are already strung together with the electrical cord. No tools required. Note that it's a 3-way lamp so works best with a 3-way bulb (not included). The 3-way LED bulbs seem expensive, and I'm sure the lamp would work with a 1-way bulb. The whole 3-way concept is antique and far inferior to a dimmer, preferably a smart dimmer, paired with a dimmable LED bulb (many are not dimmable and there's a slight price premium). For now, it's an affordable and attractive lamp, cheap at $35 or so. Classiest things in my living room for sure. Well, classiest lamps. ... show more

  • Beautiful
Color: Gold
This is a beautiful lamp. It looks expensive. It is shiny and solid. I was really suprised at the quality. It's a great addition to my livingroom. I would strongly recommend purchasing it

  • Great lamp
Color: Brushed Nickel
I just received this beautiful light and set it up which by the way was super easy as I suck at assembly. Love it . Great price for such beautiful lamp. Highly recommend

  • Good product
Color: Restoration Bronze/White Shade
I was hesitant to order this floor lamp because of some reviews on threads issues when assembling. I received it today and I didn’t have any issues. It looks as pictured and is very sturdy. One thing is that I opened the package outside due to styrofoams falling off.

  • Nice lamp...excellent customer service
Color: Restoration Bronze/Amber Shade
I have four of this lamp. Very pleased with them overall. One of two I recently bought failed to assemble properly, possibly due to bad threading, resulting in instability of the vertical pole. I requested a replacement pole segment to attempt repair the lamp myself, but instead their customer service sent an entire replacement lamp in a very timely fashion after only a single e-mail interaction. Cudos! There were no instructions to return the original. I am in the process of confirming that now. ... show more

  • Easy set up!
Color: Restoration Bronze/White Shade
Anyone not thinking of ordering one of these lamps due to some of the reviews stating it was difficult to put together please don’t listen. I did it in 5-10 minutes time. I almost didn’t purchase because it’s hard to return once out of the box. It’s simple I had not one issue and it looks great. Just needed extra lighting in my bedroom and it’s perfect for that. If you need that then get it you won’t be disappointed. I’m writing this because I wish someone else would have so I didn’t think twice. Was a good purchase for the price point. ... show more

  • price/performance ratio here is excellent
Color: Restoration Bronze/Amber Shade
This lamp isan incredible value. Looks way more expensive than it was. I researched a bunch of floor lamps and torchieres and settled on this one. I'm glad i did. the frosted glass shade is classy and the look is elegant. No dimmer, but adding a 3-way LED bulb (50/75/100w) gives it some versatility in terms of mood-setting. I placed this in the corner of my small bedroom and must say, it makes an immediate and noticeable difference. I have no overhead lighting so needed extra lighting and the height is great, as the lit surface area extends to the ceiling and inobtrusively illuminates a good portion of the room. The styling is classic with a hint of modern and should go with many different types of decor. The lamp was easy to assemble-- just screw the sections in place, uncrew the top retainer, add the shade, screw the retainer back in, add the bulb, plug it in and voila! After reading reviews before purchasing, I knew to spray lubricant on the threaded sections of the shaft. This makes installation pretty easy. You do want to be careful with the shade as it's glass but the shaft is sufficiently thick enough to inspire confidence in its durability. This lamp is miles above the el cheapo IKEA lamp i had which broke that they dont make any more, and way better made and finished than the $20 IKEA torchiere with a plastic shade. At around $40 plus bulb plus tax, I feel like I got my money's worth, Now I'm thinking of getting another one for the living room. ... show more

  • Worse Product Ever!
Color: Restoration Bronze/Amber Shade
Apparently, some engineer thought it would be a good idea to make the threads as thin as possible to save a penny. So, after it's put together and you think let's pick it up and move it. WRONG. Where the poles are screwed together the threads start slipping and it falls apart. Kudos to the genius who had milled it. He saved the company money. Almost forgot, the bottom pole would never tighten to the base, it would just spin. ... show more
