Great Durable, Easy to Use Soldering Iron! I've bought this one a few years ago and it's still going strong after different jobs of welding pieces of 3D plastic together with one tip at max heat and other jobs of welding wires together woth a different tip. Not many bells and whistles other than adjustable temperature and a light insode the case to let you know it's on. Turn it off when it's not in use and use a sponge to wet the tip before and every now and then while soldering, and it should last you a decent amount of time for the 10 dollar price at least. ... show more

I have been using this Soldering Iron for primarily Autmotive purposes, though no on excessively large guages of wire. The Iron heats up extremely quickly and holds its heat well when actively soldering many consecutive connections. The small stand and other accessories though are fairly cheap and flimsy, on more than one occasion I had the irons stand twist and fall over, I would not trust it alone in an environment with flammable items. All in all its a decent little kit that provides a tip cleaner, and small amount of solder to begin with. ... show more

I am a pretty shoddy solderer. Like huge amateur. For year's I have been killing the tips on the cheap Walmart-purchased soldering irons and came to the realization maybe it's not me, but maybe it's the temperature. This temperature controlled iron was a game changer as I have yet to destroy it.

This solder was good for making holes in small plastic containers I was going to use for plants and for melting the ends of synthetic fabrics but it wasn't very good for soldering wire that was thicker than 18 gauge. Also the black rubber part starts to get warm after a while even on the lowest setting, so be careful. ... show more

The iron comes with a range of tips. I used the finest one to solder wires about 0.05” diameter in a camera. I did use a leaded solder, not the included solder, to be able to keep the temperature to a minimum.

This kit I bought for some small DIY projects at home, and I can say it worked like a charm at a small scale. When applying this kit to larger more durable products, do not that more time and energy will be spent. The kit is small, and it can take time to cover larger areas but, it offers a good variety of tips and is very easy to use.
