Whoever says it is a bad idea to give a woman a vacuum as a gift is either (a) not a woman or (b) not a woman with cats. This was my Christmas gift this year, and I love it. Things I love about it: (1) It stands up on its own and does not need to be leaned up against anything to stay upright (2) It is the perfect size. Not too big, not too small. (3) It has a little charging stand, which makes it feel more put away even though we have it sitting out in our study and not in a closet. (4) It has a light! This was a must for me. (5) The profile of the vacuum head itself (area where the beater bar is) is slim enough that I can easily vacuum under our vanities even though the bottom moulding of the cabinet has only a fairly small arch between it and the floor. (6) It is light-weight. If it were too heavy, I would be less inclined to grab it each day for regular maintenance. (7) It does the job. It is not by any means as powerful as a full-sized vacuum, but it is perfect for keeping things tidy on a daily basis. We use it for cat litter and any fur that as accumulated throughout the day. (8) The detachable handheld vacuum is gold. I love everything about it — the weight, the suction power (not too much or too little), the convenience of having it for smaller jobs or tiny spaces. (9) The look. It has a more classic design that feels more sophisticated than other options out there. If I am going to keep a vacuum out all the time, which is what we wanted to do so that it would be super easy to grab the vacuum for daily maintenance, I want to not mind how the thing looks. I bought another stick vacuum on Amazon for $30 less before I purchased this one, and it was terrible. I boxed it back up for return and started looking again when I stumbled across this one. I’m so glad I found it! It has decent suction, moves nicely, great pivoting head (on the upright part), is lightweight, and the battery lasts long enough for me to do what I need to do. We have a German shepherd who sheds constantly, a long-haired shedding cat, and a 4 year old child adding to our mess, so this is nice to have. I can just quickly grab it and clean up any messes. I originally wanted it for our stairs and to keep on the 2nd floor so that I didn’t have to lug our big one up for small amounts of debris, but find myself grabbing it even for messes on the 1st floor. I wouldn’t buy this as a primary vacuum. There’s no way it could keep up with our household, but as a secondary one, it’s awesome. It may work as a primary if a household didn’t have a lot of carpet and the place was smallish. The only thing negative is that the attachment for the handheld is placed on the charging station behind where the vacuum stands as it is stored/charging. If I only want to use the handheld and I need the attachment on, I have to remove the upright part to grab the attachment. I wish they would have located it in a more convenient way (maybe on the side or back of the charging station). Although my order was 2 days late it was so worth the wait! Why 4 and not 5 stars? Pros: Easy to put together, floor charger not a wall mount, ridiculously lightweight, feels sturdy, has good suction, 2 power modes, easy to clean filter, nice color! Cons: the attachments for the mini vac should have a place on the main unit to hold them so that when you pop out the mini you can quickly attach, the main unit doesn’t click into place to let it stand upright for when you use the mini vac ( unless I’m missing something)?, I wish the pet one came in more colors ( just a personal thing), it does tend to “drive itself” almost like self propelled on some turns haha its no a huge turn off, but its odd…lol. Overall im very satisfied. Be careful when attaching the handle into the base when you unbox it…there is a screw that needs to come out first, then go back in. I recently had brain surgery and I can’t push our ( what feels like a 200lbs) Dyson….I did my research and the big brands in the lightweight category ; shark, Dyson, etc …didn't get the best reviews for their buck….then i stumbled upon this and im very happy I did. My boyfriend would have killed me if i got one that had to have a batter charger installed into the wall… i love the floor based charge station! If you don’t have pets you don't need the “pet one…I have a dog that does not shed, but my hair sheds like crazy so I figured that is like the same difference ha…after talking to a customer service person he laughed and said yes get the pet one. If you can get past those things you’ll love this! I am not calling it a game changer I would not send it back over those few cons, they’d just be nice in my option. It came with about 5 min worth of a charge so I got to zoom in around its great moving from hard floor to carpet too! ... show more
