The first thing that struck me about the Patio Boss outdoor heater was the attention to detail and quality. The packaging was custom designed and even had inserts to protect the heating element. The design was attractive-- slanted edges and not industrial looking like I expected. The instructions were in clear English, which is certainly not always the case. I mounted it easily with supplied brackets, about seven feet above the ground. The included remote made it easy to use, and although it's been nice during the day in California, it's been cold in the evenings-- the Patio Boss makes it possible to BBQ and eat outside. The radiant nature of the heat heats objects more than the air, so you warm up quickly and stay very comfortable. I could not be happier with this patio addition, and the only change I might make is to get another for the other end of the patio for larger groups. ... show more

Looks cheap and cheesy but we use it in our uninsulated shop. It gets down to 10° and night. We use this during the day, when it's about 30° to heat over a work bench and area around it. It makes a big difference! And it heats up rather quickly too. You definitely don't want to lose the remote. We have only had it 2 months. I don't know how long it will last.
