I am just trying to guard a 20ft x 20ft high intensity garden plot from the unrelenting barage of critter visitors. This fence energizer is probably overkill for my needs, but I wanted overkill. It operates as expected. While I like the features this one came with at the price point, it doesn't come with anything else. Setup directions not included, nor negative or positive pigtails. It's just the energizer. So, maybe not the best choice for beginners, but electric fencing is fairly straight forward. Also, all the other parts for an electric fence are cheaper at a box store than online, so that was just fine to me. I like the convience of the outdoor case design, the operational red light, and the built in lightening arrestor. I'll still be putting a bucket over it when there's inclement weather approching, so it will help with it's longevity. Overall, I feel it's a good value for my needs. It it lasts a few years, I would buy it again. Would recommend to others too. Hoping it holds up as well as name brand energizers on the market. Time will tell. Update: 9-1-22 First medium size critter attack last week, likely raccoon. Energizer did it's job and kept the critter out! Garden was still intact. My fence on the otherhand needed more corner supports. It was a little saggy where the critter tried to enter. Very happy so far and fence is now bear proof. (1 Year Update) It worked great all season last year. Stored the charger in the garage over the winter. Brought it back out for this growing season (2023) and it's still working awesome. Finally got a fence checker this season to verify the voltage and am at 7.8kv with my cheap setup, which is plenty. So I'm still super happy with it! I think some may have issues due to improper grounding. This can cause all sorts of problems. It's worth spending a little extra on a decent grounding rod. Also, regardless of the weather proof case, it should still have extra protection from the elements. The sun breaks down plastic and adhesives over time. A bucket over the charger will do wonders for longevity on the case. ... show more

Seemed to work well for three months, then nothing. not sure if the cold weather in Colorado high country caused something to crack or what, but after five nights of single digit temperature it has failed to even turn on. Would not recommend. Of course it failed after the return window has passed. I will not buy another one of this brand even though it kept the bears out of the chicken coop. Update. I have changed my rating to 4 stars. Their customer service responded with a full refund. Will be contacting them again to find out if this was a fluke or whether it can really not take single digit temperatures. Second Update. After being given the runaround by this seller I contacted Amazon Customer Service. They took care of this situation and refunded my money even though they did not have to. I would avoid buying anything from this seller as they do not seem to be honest. Buyer beware. ... show more

I like how easy it is to install, just cut about 2 feet off of a T post, drill some holes in it, screw it to a board, hang the charger on the revealed part of the post and put it where you want it. I did it this way because I am putting this charger inside a shop to keep it out of the weather. If a person prefers you can just drive a T post outside and put the charger on the post. I am using this charger to keep cows out of the chicken feeding area, so far it is working great. The voltage at the fence is 13,000 volts, I got zapped once and it's a jolt you don't soon forget. This fence charger works shockingly well… I’ve got it connected to a combination of a wire fence and a temporary poly wire fence which join together. The charger puts out a good voltage across the entire run even with the poly wire which by its nature takes more power. The cows would give it a thumbs down - if they had thumbs… ... show more

I purchased this in April, 2023. Worked fine for 3 months. It stopped working in August. Do it worked for 3 months. Don’t waste your money. Update. Owner sent replacement unit free of charge. Very good customer service. New unit working great!

Do to Circumstance got fence finished a couple months after ordering parts. After installing I noticed horses resting head on electric fence wire, turn system off checked fence turned back on. Fence Okay light on but zero, that is zero power going out to fence from fence charger. Now pat return date. Waste of money! ... show more

Not worth the money. Set this up and it worked for 10 days. Light not blinking. Checked fence for any grounds. Reinstalled old fencer and it powered the fence full strength. Tried reconnecting this fencer. Nothing. Would not recommend at all. Piece of junk. 08.02.23 I contacted company and they replaced with a new fencer. I haven't been able to set up due to drought conditions here, but will as soon as I can and update review. Customer service was very friendly and I do appreciate them working with me to resolve this issue. ... show more
