My last electric bike was several years old and it was time for an upgrade. I found this fat tire bike and i am beyond excited about it specially given the price. The first thing that i have to call out is how powerful this bike is. My last bike topped out at 20 mph. This one has a bigger 750w motor and runs up to 25mph unrestricted. This is actually quite fast on a bicycle and sometimes a little scary. The large tires does provide more of a sense of comfort than normal tired bikes. The tire size in addition to the hefty front shocks absorbs bumps and goes over rough terrain with ease. The bike has a few features and nice touches that help set it apart from others. This model includes both front and rear fenders and they appear to be oversized. This is incredibly nice and helpful in keeping moisture, dirt, and mud off your legs and back when riding. This model also has front and rear disk breaks which work surprisingly well when coming to a stop from 25mph. Most e-bikes have a headlight but this one also adds a brake/taillight which is a nice touch to increase visibility on the riding on the road at night. Finally the bike has a large durable rack on the rear over the wheel. It worked nicely for putting my bike rack bag on it which is large enough for a few tools and a bag of groceries if I make a bike run to the store. The bike has 7 speeds which aren't necessarily needed if using pure electric mode. They are much appreciated when using the pedal assist mode though. Using pure electric i am able to go about 25-30 miles in pure electric mode and up to 60 miles in pedal assist. This means i can go a full week of riding without recharging the battery. A full charge is best done overnight though because it takes 6-8 hours to go from zero to 100%. This is the first Electric Bike we have ever owned, but I have to say that I wish we had tried one of these sooner. This baby has some power. Our country roads are a mixture of paved roads, gravel roads and chip & sealed roads. While we tend to avoid the gravel roads completely (even in our car), the paved and chip & sealed roads are great for riding this bike on. It took the two of us about 2 and 1/2 hours to assemble this, since we had never put one together before. The tool kit that came with the bike contained all the wrenches, etc. needed for a smooth assembly. The directions were clear, although we did have to use my phone to make the pictures bigger to see where some of the parts went (old person problems). The step by step instructions are well written and there was no need to deviate from the order in which it was assembled. I was pleasantly surprised at the sturdiness and weight of the bike itself. The fat tires were a game changer for me in terms of stability and control. They give me a higher sense of security over a traditional bike. The rack on the back works very well for strapping on a small cooler or other carry-all, so we have been taking this to the pond very frequently. My other likes about this bike are: The saddle is very comfortable to sit on, even for longer rides. The operation of the bike itself is very straightforward - nothing is complicated about it. The gears shift smoothly. The petals are easy to turn, and the ridges on the petals keep my shoes from sliding off of the petals. The LCD display is clear and bright enough to read even in the daylight. The acceleration when using the motor is smooth, and very effortless. The seat adjusts quickly when changing riders. The brakes work well - although it's important to use the back brake first to avoid being thrown off, just like a regular bike. After spending a few weeks taking turns riding this electric bike, we are thoroughly pleased, and intend to purchase another in the very near future. ... show more
