I love the olive color BUT you need to deviate from the instructions. It plainly states to put open container (with the dye crystals inside) upright on top of garment that is to be dyed. I have a front load washing machine. As soon as I hit start the drum turned over before water was able to dispense. Dark stains could be seen on my garment. I had to dye again using a very dark color in order to hide the stains. The next time I colored a different pair of chinos I added the container after the drum had filled with water. Used the full pod on one pair of cotton pants. Probably could have added one more item but didn’t want to risk getting two partially dyed items. Pants dyed perfectly but the threads in the stitching around the seams and pockets didn’t take any color at all - must be nylon thread. So now I have olive pants with khaki stitching 😅 ... show more

    • “Pod” doesn’t mean a laundry soap type of pod!!

A little pricey but well worth the extra cost for the ease of use. I ordered it because I wanted to fix an oopsy and get some bleach stains out of a pair of my husband’s shorts and sounded like it would be the easiest product to use. It dyed the rust colored spots a light gray. So the spots weren’t so obvious once the shorts were dyed but they didn’t dye the same color as the rest of his shorts. ALSO, in case you are incredibly confused as well, they have included a picture above (that is unfortunately not on the product itself) that shows that “pod” is term they use for the whole container you receive. I stupidly opened it thinking that there would be a laundry soap type pod in the container and was extremely confused when it was just powered dye. Thankfully my husband was home and able to figure out what “pod” actually meant. ... show more

Way easier than rit dye on the stove! Wish they offered more color selection. Did a knit cottomln cardigan with espresso and it turned out great, a gorgeous rich color. Followed instructions and it turned out great! Will buy more dylon pods for sure.

I followed the directions and read them a few times. My white UGG cotton blanket is green but there are also LARGE splotches of blue where the dye didn’t disperse. I believe the directions could be improved upon by the company.

I purchased a cotton robe in a color I don't like; it was the only way to get 100% cotton. The color continued to annoy me, but the Dylon pod changed all that. The pod worked perfectly, dyed the robe to a color I love, and left no stains or color residue in my washing machine. Follow the instructions, though you might have to guess a bit based on your type of front loader -- for mine I chose "super wash" (set to "warm" water) to prolong the robe's contact with the dye. I will be using these pods again -- reviving a pair of black jeans is my next target, and I never would have considered the pods if I had not been forced to do so. No fuss and no mess. ... show more

Color: Sunflower Yellow
I did a small load with plain white sheets as my main target and threw in a few other items that I thought might be cute yellow. The sheets came out bright white (no effect). Just to be clear, I unwrapped the pod, removed the foil seal, read the contents that were in a little leaflet like packet, sat it upright on top of the sheets. I stood there and watched to see if the powder came out and it did. It was 100% empty after the load. In addition, I have a front opening washer so I don’t understand why nothing happened to the majority of the items and one went in lavender and came out grey. My husband by accident bleached my dress, instead of throwing it out read reviews and tried this dye. Though expensive compared to other brands, I did one dye cycle in the washing machine and was so impressed with the result, reordered and redyed it a second time. The dress came out almost perfect, and when on can’t see any bleach stain. Also love that even using higher washer temperature didn’t shrink the dress it cause and fabric deterioration. Would recommend this brand to anyone in a similar situation. Including pictures of original bleach stain, dress after one dye and after second dye. ... show more
