This is a very important item to add to your kitchen.

    • Should definitely do the job in smothering a small fire
This fire blanket looks just like the product photos and video. It is a simply constructed 3’3” square made of a thick material (fiberglass, according to the vendor) with 2 black straps sewn into one end. The blanket is folded up and enclosed in a heavy-duty red vinyl bag with clear, simple instructions printed on the outside. I didn’t want to start a fire in my home to test it out, but I feel confident that this blanket will do a good job suffocating a small fire. I keep it right next to our wood stove - which we use all winter for heat - in case any embers jump out and catch fire to the nearby couch or carpet. This is a great quality product - sturdy, durable materials and user-friendly. My only issues are: Both the bag and the blanket weren’t properly finished when sewn; they have loose, unclipped threads where the start/end come together. (Makes it look less professional, and I’m concerned will start to unravel.) Also, the product information mentions that the blanket is reusable (great!) if it is “properly cleaned” - but no mention anywhere when or how that is done? ... show more
