During metal fabrication the blankets held up, without burning, when hit with a flame from an oxy-acetylene torch. There are two blankets in the bag. Exactly the same length and width. One is noticeable thicker and 30% heavier. Had I known they were different weight I would've preferred two of the thicker. Good value and expect them to work as advertised

It is burn proof for cigarettes. Kind of a felt fabric and white cigarette may eventually burn through if left for a long time, like 10 minutes, but not sooner. Beware of false advertising! Don't let the marketing deceive you into thinking this is a high-quality welding blanket. In reality, it is nothing more than a flimsy felt placemat that barely serves as a protective barrier for a hot plate. I purchased this product with the intention of using it in my firebox to prevent any damage, but it turned out to be a disastrous decision. Not only did it fail to fulfill its purpose, but it actually burned right through, leaving scorch marks and wreaking havoc on my table. The claims made about this so-called welding blanket are completely misleading, and I strongly advise against wasting your hard-earned money on this deceptive and ineffective product. ... show more
