This is the best & most comfortable net I have ever used. I netted a fish for a guy that had one. As soon as I picked it up, I could tell it was different and once I used it I was sold. Ordered one that very day. However, if you are looking to buy a net, don't be penny wise & dollar foolish. Whether you buy an EGO or another brand, NEVER, NEVER EVER buy a nylon net or a coated net. Only buy a 100% rubber net! You will save yourself a lot off aggravation & you will spend more time fishing vs trying to get your hook untangled and out of the net! Spend the extra $20 or whatever it is for a rubber mesh net. If you have only used nylon or a coated net, once you use a rubber net, you will never want to use those other ones again. ... show more

  • Great Landing Net!
Perfect for Pacific Coast fishing. The net is big and the barb of the hooks don't get caught in the mesh like they do in a string net. I'm not sure how it would work with Atlantic Coast species of fish since they have more dominant teeth. The telescoping function broke and I called the manufacturer and they sent me a new handle! The extension feature is great! Good reach, yet it doesn't seem to make the handle weak. We bought this as a livestock catching net. This net seems to strike a good balance between weight and maneuverability vs size and strength. We have used it to catch 20-30 lb piglets as well as small <1 lb chickens. It has successfully caught both without breaking and without injury to animal or handler. Highly recommend. It's worth the money. ... show more

  • My experience in a nut shell
It looks nice. A bit heavy compared to others. The rubber net is not durable, in that it broke the first time I used it. If I were to buy it again I would have got the coated nylon ones like the rubber coated nylon net instead. I was using it for salmon. It tends to twist loose sometimes due to its screw on top, even though I thought I screwed it tight. Tip: use plumber tape on the threads. Replacement nets seem hard to find for this size also if you were to replace the net like I did. Replaced it with a Ranger net: 36H. Hopefully this review helped someone decide. ... show more

  • It's a great net... if you take care of it.
I purchased this net back in 2015 as a Father's day gift. It's been a permanent stable of just about every fishing trip (his and mine) ever since. 20 lb catfish in the river... 30 lb Stripers in the bay... 15 pound trout/salmon in NY... This net has survived it all for a solid four years now. I'm now coming back to purchase another for my own boat. Couple of notes: 1: The net indeed floats... the net with the extension pole does not. 2: Don't expect to extend this fully out with a fat hog, and lift it horizontally out of the water... It's meant to reach out, net the fish, slide the pole back together, and then lift the net vertically out of the water. It will last way longer this way. 3: Throw some teflon tape on the threads connecting the pole to the net. After a while, and multiple net flips, this can loosen up, and you'll lose your net if you aren't paying attention (though, it should float if there's not a fish in it). ... show more

Appears well constructed, easy to expand and close. The rubber netting should be gentle on fish. I have not yet had the chance to net any fish. BUT it makes easy work of getting discarded foam coffee cups and water bottles out of the river!
