Great mower. When it says it has the power of gas it is true. This mower even has more power and does a better job than some of the gas mowers I have owned. I have a bigger corner lot yard so I purchased another batter to make sure I had enough battery to do the whole yard front and back in one mowing. I live in Florida so in the summer the grass is much thicker and grows faster. The battery last so long I can actually get almost the whole yard done on one battery and only use a quarter of the second one and in the fall and winter months can do the whole lawn with only one battery. It is more than great quality and well made. Has a battery power level indicator on the back so while you are moving you can clearly see how much battery you have left. So good and efficient I get the whole lawn done in half the time. Very happy with this purchase. Well worth the money. This mower will last a long time and does a great job. Would definitely recommend. Sorry I went with a cheaper brand and option earlier that did not do even half as good as job a this Ego mower does and only lasted a year. My old gas mower finally crapoed out. So I bought this and the EGO weedeater with the same power supply. The batteries are interchangeable, and good for 45 minutes a piece. I don't have huge yard, so one is more than enough to mow and edge. The deck is easily adjustable with 6 settings. And given that the yard is small, so is my shed. This thing can be folded up and stood on its end for storage. Has all the feature of a similar gas mower, with a pvc deck, so rust will never be an issue. It's lightweight (easily carried in one hand with the built-in carry handle) so it would be great for mowing hills. And best of all, it's quiet. If you wanted it get up at dawn and mow before the heat if the day hit, you could do so without irritated your neighbors or violating an local noise ordinances. It also has a headlamp for mowing in low light conditions, but I've yet to try that. Next to no assembly required, unless you want to use the bagging option. Even that is simple and tool free. A friend of mine run a lawn service, and I'm going to let him test it for commercial applications. Downsides: the replacement or extra batteries are expensive, almost half the cost of the total unit. Hands down the EGO Lawnmower is the most solidly build, best cutting, has the best battery, that charges the quickest (40 min or less) and if you have a huge lot (1 to 1 1/2 acres) you can buy a generic 56vol 7-10 amp battery or 2 to ensure you can get even the largest yards done with just 2-3 batteries w/out having to stop, just drop them in for re-charging.     • Works well but cumbersome

This 21" electric replaces my 21" gas mower (that was 44 years old and finally croaking). Comparing the two, the EGO is significantly larger in ways that make it somewhat unwieldy. When the arms are fully extended -- as they must be in order for it to run -- it's much longer, and this, plus its additional width, makes it more difficult to maneuver compared to my old mower. The gas mower was lighter, too. Also, the unnecessarily huge, "macho" lever that you use to change cutting height (something I did exactly once with the old mower) makes it hard to get under low shrubs around the edge of my lawn. That thing could be replaced by a smaller, simpler lever that doesn't protrude so much. For the most part this mower is pretty ergonomic except for the battery, which, despite its size and weight, has no easy way to grip with one hand. Which one has to do (me, anyway) because the charger base wants to lift up when you try to remove the battery, unless you hold the base down with the other hand. That wouldn't be a problem if the base were attached to a wall, but mine isn't. Cutting is very good, but mulching is just so-so -- not nearly as good as my old mower. I have to make a second pass over some of the little piles of grass that it leaves behind. It was exceptionally easy to get this mower out of the box and set it up (no assembly at all), and after fully charging, which went pretty fast, it was ready to go.     • Better than I expected.

I’ve been mowing and using a gasoline powered mower for the last 40 years of my life. Several years back when the battery powered lawn items hit the market I was hesitant and didn’t want to jump into the 1st or 2nd gen iterations. But I had some unknown issue with my last gas mower this spring so I decided to make the leap. I got the EGO 21” push mower. I have a flat lawn so I don’t need the self propelled model. I couldn’t be happier with it. My lawn is 5,000 square feet so you can decide how that compares with yours… but ever since the 1st charge and 1st cut this year it has performed perfectly. I am able to cut my entire yard, using the bagger, and have not dropped below 50% battery usage. And it charges very quickly. Now if you are a yard nut and want a cut like the greens at Pinehirst, you probably should stick with gas for now. But this gives a nice clean cut every time. No, don’t mow right after it rains. Pay attention to the bag and empty when full. You can’t push it like a gas mower. But the fact you don’t have smelly gas stinking up your garage or shed is so nice… not to mention, simply not having to deal with a gas can, transpo, fill up, etc. is such a nice change. And maybe the best part, it is so much more quiet. One button start. Okay, I’m finished! Oops, no. Wait. It is also loaded with all sorts of adjustments for your specific height, likes, dislikes, etc. How far the handle comes out to your body, how low or high you want the angle of the handle, super easy deck adjustment for cut height and the mower folds up and sits on its side if you want to save space in your garage or shed.
