I love the ease of use. I've had medical issues that make pulling a cord to start painful - now I just push a button. I was initially suspicious that it could have the same cutting power of my gas mower but I was wrong. It light weight and easy to maneuver (much lighter than a gas powered mower), very quiet, and it mulches so a bag is not necessary (at least in my case).     • Gas engine power without the problems

First of all let me state that this mower comes packaged and protected very well, nothing was damaged in shipping even though there was a small hole in the top of the box. Assembly was very straight forward and only took a few minutes, I left the rear bag assembly for later and unpacked the battery and charger and got the charging started right away. I purchased this mower based on videos and reviews of actual owners and users and also the fact that EGO is headquartered in Grand Rapids Michigan is also a plus. I read the assembly and charging section of the manual first and then set up the mower handle height to suit me, it took about 30 minutes for the battery to charge and then we mowed for a while in our back yard. We have more than a 1/2 acre of mixed grass and common weeds, and we also have 4 gas powered walk behind mowers not working with the most recent only 3 years old and it won't stay running. I'm in my 60's and have RA along with a bad back a knee so the whole gas, oil, pull starting thing has gotten old, another reason to try out this mower. It is easy to start, very quiet and easy to push around the yard, and is not self propelled and even so it is easy to maneuver. It has 6 height settings for cutting and is easy to adjust with one knob, the handles telescope out and up and down easily and in my first full mowing test the battery lasted for more than an hour and charged up fully in 30 minutes. The battery is easy to install and remove and when the battery is getting low on power a red light blinks on the display by the battery compartment. The mower also folds up very compact and has a handle so it can be rolled into storage. That is all the good stuff, now the not so good, the handle adjustment lever on the lower left side sticks out far enough that it catches on lower limbs of bushes and other things in the yard I have to mow around. I see that as a potential problem for breakage, as is the height adjustment knob. The front of the mower extends out almost 12 inches from the cutting path so getting close to an obstacle like a fence or tree is impossible. The side discharge chute gets clogged very easy so I have to stop constantly to remove it and clear it out, but if I use the bag that problem is eliminated as the bag is easy to use. The mower is made of mostly plastic, the battery compartment is easily scratched up from limbs and debris, and the rest of the mower surface is difficult to clean up. That is the only bad stuff I have so far, as I use the mower over the next few months of mowing season I will learn more, I've sharpened the blade once using a Dremel tool so I didn't have to remove the blade for a touch up but after reading the manual it isn't that hard to remove the blade. The mower comes with a mulching plug but I haven't used it yet, all in all this a top notch mower that performs very well and does so because of the advancements in battery technology that give a gas mower type experience without the gas, oil and fumes and frustration. ... show more

I’ve been mowing and using a gasoline powered mower for the last 40 years of my life. Several years back when the battery powered lawn items hit the market I was hesitant and didn’t want to jump into the 1st or 2nd gen iterations. But I had some unknown issue with my last gas mower this spring so I decided to make the leap. I got the EGO 21” push mower. I have a flat lawn so I don’t need the self propelled model. I couldn’t be happier with it. My lawn is 5,000 square feet so you can decide how that compares with yours… but ever since the 1st charge and 1st cut this year it has performed perfectly. I am able to cut my entire yard, using the bagger, and have not dropped below 50% battery usage. And it charges very quickly. Now if you are a yard nut and want a cut like the greens at Pinehirst, you probably should stick with gas for now. But this gives a nice clean cut every time. No, don’t mow right after it rains. Pay attention to the bag and empty when full. You can’t push it like a gas mower. But the fact you don’t have smelly gas stinking up your garage or shed is so nice… not to mention, simply not having to deal with a gas can, transpo, fill up, etc. is such a nice change. And maybe the best part, it is so much more quiet. One button start. Okay, I’m finished! Oops, no. Wait. It is also loaded with all sorts of adjustments for your specific height, likes, dislikes, etc. How far the handle comes out to your body, how low or high you want the angle of the handle, super easy deck adjustment for cut height and the mower folds up and sits on its side if you want to save space in your garage or shed.     • Light and easy...

Light and easy to move around and store. It's powerful enough and a partially charged battery will do both front and rear lawns. Also easy to adjust height and it doesn't seem to miss a blade of grass. We bought the EGO Snowblower last year and the batteries are interchangeable which is a major plus. Very happy to not have to deal with oil changes and gasoline. No gasoline, no extension cord to fumble run over!! +++++++ ... show more

This is my second EGO mower and the first one is still running but over heats a bit after 10 years. Bought this one as a back up and performs better that then first one.
