Have an old (one of the very first, and the first batch came from the factory pretty stiff) Purple mattresses. It is an outstanding mattress, one that after more than a decade still has zero wear. But its owner being a softie means it needs a topper. So I’ve used a lot of toppers over the years. The three things to avoid are toppers that smell toxic (this one doesn’t), toppers that are not thick enough (I have the 4 inch version of this topper and it is perfect), and last but not least toppers that don’t hold their shape (this one does). Given there are no cons it is exactly what I needed and am super happy with this EGOHOME topper. Wait a sec, there is one potential con: Nowhere in the text of this Amazon listing does it say anything about being infused with Lavender. Not even in the images (where many put the specs these days). But folks it ain’t purple for no reason, that very purple tint is their way of saying it will smell very VERY purple too. If you don’t like the smell of Lavender you will indeed want to light it afire & chuck it from on high. The smell of Lavender isn’t a fav but also doesn’t turn me off, so I give this very purple puppy a full five stars. ... show more

The topper comes vacuum packed and it takes several hours to puff up to a full 4”. The egg crate design is great for air flow and comfort, and the gel infusion helps it to contour to your body, relieving pressure points. The price is more than fair for the quality, and the lavender scent is a pleasant, novel touch. As soon as I cut away the vacuum packaging, a heavenly aroma filled the air around me, and I was so excited and surprised because nowhere in the product description does it mention that this topper is scented. My husband and I hoped we would drift off every night to the soothing scent of lavender, but were then disappointed that once we got the mattress pad and sheets on we could barely smell it. Still I rate it 5 stars because the product itself is of excellent quality, and if we remember to rotate it every now and then, it should last a while. After all, the lavender scent was just an unexpected bonus that was nice while it lasted. ... show more

I ordered this topper hoping to make our guest bed feel a lot softer and we're super pleased with it! The topper came vacuum sealed. Once we opened the mattress, we laid it flat and within a few hours, the individual foam pieces rose a few inches. I was super surprised with how much the mattress grew! Received topper it was supposed to be purple, but it is just white, took out of box and it fluffed to its three-inch height in a few hours, ready to use, Slept much better last night no leg cramps for a nice restful sleep. I was pleasantly surprised this topper is infused with lavender. It smells wonderful. I still can’t believe the extra care that was put in to this mattress topper to infuse it with lavender. I’m am allergic to some chemical smells but this smells really good and fresh. I ordered Queen size and 4” depth and its fits like it should. For this mattress topper, I recommend to not open the vacuum sealed package until you have a place to allow it to unfold and expand as it needs. I let mine expand two full days just to make sure it’s fully expanded. Three days would be even better. When people order foam mattresses or mattress toppers, one of the avoidable complaints is odd shaping and that happens when the gel foam doesn’t have enough time to fully expand before it’s used. Also, since the topper is not waterproof, I recommend putting a full zip around waterproof mattress protector around it with the mattress and topper in one mattress protector. If you have allergies to lavender, a mattress protector may also prevent the scent from coming through and still allow you to keep the topper. I think the topper is luxurious and makes my bed contour like sleeping on clouds.. It’s also a nice addition to a guest bedroom. ... show more

I got this topper to use with a futon and it is perfect! It is only slightly larger than needed, but would be the exact size for a normal mattress. This topper is thick and comfy! Provides ample back support and prevents aches from the stiff futon. Definitely worth the money!

I have extreme scent sensitivity and nowhere in this title or anywhere else do I see this labeled as lavender and the Box gets here and in big letters on the side it says egg crate lavender memory foam and I'm like well maybe it means the color lavender well I open it up and it is this ridiculously strong lavender smell to the point that I'm pretty much throwing it in the trash can because it's making me sick. ... show more
