Loving EcoFlow's new River 3 series line. I have both the River 3 (top) and River 3 Plus (bottom). They are both excellent, but the River 3 Plus is slightly larger in dimension. But with that extra space comes a whole lot of powerful features, like a 600w inverter (double with X-Boost mode). The new display is also the newer generation style...very sleek. I love the built in LED strip, which can cycle through various modes and adjust brightness. This is also the first River product that can serve as a genuine UPS with under 10ms changeover time. There looks like there is only one AC outlet, but actually, there are 3 in total (2 in the back, 1 in the front). And the best secret? Expandable batteries! You can slap on an EB300 or EB600 battery to increase the capacity dramatically, and they themselves can serve as a large power brick with USB-C outlet. It's so versatile to be able to add or remove these extra batteries, so I can choose how much capacity and weight I want to carry with me. The integrated top handle is also great for carrying and sits flush, so you can stack items on top (like I did with the River 3 in the photo).     • Noxious, probably toxic fumes when charging from AC - ZERO STARS DESERVED

My first "exposure" to this vendor, and what I find is yet another product of China that displays contempt for the health of the consumer. The room-filling stink this thing emits when charging from AC is certainly annoying and probably toxic. IMO the people responsible for making this product, and for bringing to the USA, should be arrested and prosecuted. UPDATE. The smell emitted from this device made my throat and eyes burn, gave me a headache and made me woozy. Even though my review, and another, mention the smell, Rufus still blithely reports "no reviews mention a smell". Sigh. I returned the unit, and because Rufus said no reviews mentioned a smell, I went for a replacement. When I opened the box on the second unit I immediately noticed the same smell, albeit with less intensity. I closed and retaped the box and have sent it back for a refund. This model, or some batch, has a defect in design, or in assembly, or in a component. The problem MAY BE leaking battery cells (shudder), considering what Professor Google says when asked about the smell of LiFePO4: "If a LiFePO4 battery leaks, the electrolyte fluid that spills out can have a noticeable odor, often described as chemical or slightly acrid." Another result says "A LiFePO4 battery leak typically refers to the leakage of electrolyte, the liquid between the positive and negative electrodes of the battery. This liquid often emits a distinctive odor and can be toxic, so it's crucial to handle any battery leakage with care." THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE RECALLED. ... show more

    • Update- Still smells terrible! Not great as UPS as hoped.

After using as a UPS for my desktop I am not that impressed. Charging limited to 80% and for some reason the fan comes on regularly when its full charged to the 80% limit. Smell is awful. Last night I walked in and the built in LED light was strobing for seemingly no reason or input from me. Thinking I will continue using the old SLA UPS for backup and store this in the basement for emergency use. Not what I had hoped. 2 weeks on and still - Plastic should not smell this bad! ... show more
