  • Works as expected. Very satisfied.
My experience with the purchase of the Ecoflow Delta Mini started out being frustrating, but ultimately the unit met my expectations fully. My desire for a portable power station was for a backup power solution in the event of emergencies. I wanted a unit that would be able to recharge our devices as well as small appliances for a substantial period without access to home electrical power. Another requirement was the ability to recharge the battery unit from a solar panel in case the power did not come back in a reasonable period of time. After some research, I settled on the Ecoflow brand and the Delta Mini as the model that could suit my basic needs while remaining within my budget. I initially purchased the Ecoflow Delta Mini listed at $799 with a $50 discount coupon upon checkout. I also purchased an Ecoflow 160 watt solar panel to accompany the battery unit for $349. I was pleased to receive both items within a few days of the order. Unfortunately, the Delta Mini I received did not work properly. The unit would charge up when plugged in and I could charge devices from it, but the power button (on/off) did not work. After shutting down from inactivity, the unit would only become active again if plugged back into the wall. Not good if you need to use the device but have no access to a working power plug. I called Ecoflow and after a short evaluation by the operator and an email, they agreed that the unit was defective and arranged for a shipping label for return and eventually replacement. Unfortunately, the process to receive a new unit would take several weeks. To avoid such a long wait, I sent the defective unit back and ordered a second unit from Amazon. The new unit arrived a couple of days later. Not long after, my defective unit got back to the factory and I was issued a full refund. Minor frustration, but the company made it right. As for the Ecoflow Delta Mini, it works as expected and very well at that. I tested it with the devices that I planned to power it with and found that it charged up multiple devices via the USB outlets at the expected rates. Even fast charging those phones via the one USB that has that capability. The unit also powered small appliances (albeit with significant drain of the battery). I tested a 1500 watt electric kettle with 1.7 liters of water, and was able to get a full boil in 6 minutes with about 16-18% batter drain at each attempt. The same test with 1.7 liters of water on a single burner 1200 watt hot plate took 13 minutes to a full boil and drained 36% of the battery. A test of keeping a 7 cu. foot freezer alive overnight (12 hours) gave me a 60% drain of the battery. All in all, interesting results. It meets my needs, but be aware that if you hope to power more appliances for a longer period of time you will need one of the bigger and more expensive units. As for recharging, the Delta Mini charged up very quickly from the wall plug. It only takes an hour or so to top up from the 50-60% area to full. When it’s really low (below 30%) you might need up to two hours to get a full charge. I was impressed with the solar panel. It was listed at 160 watts, and with full sunlight it gave exactly that. As the clouds passed by it dipped a bit (103, 137, etc.) but as long as the sun was strong it was plugging right along. However whenever the clouds blocked the sun, the output dropped all the way down. Sometimes in the 24-77 watt range, but often at zero. Keep that in mind, as the weather of the day will affect how much re-charge you will get. My test day had strong sun, but with periods that the clouds passed over and blocked it completely. All told, in that session it took me 1 hour to gain a 10% charge on the battery. If you are going to rely on the sun to get your battery from 0 to 100, expect it to take all day if it gets there at all. Perhaps a second (expensive) panel might make that more realistic. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase as well as the response by customer service to my issues. ... show more

  • Backup Battery for Solar Shed
Style: DELTA Pro Ultra
This isn't a review about the shipping (because I would give that 2 stars for the lack of communication and the month-long delay). Once I got the inverter and the battery, installation took about 20mins and everything was up and running. The app gives you plenty of information, including your current input and output, and it shows you historical data. I have this unit powering my solar shed with 1900w of solar and it easily runs my computers, TV, lights, and an EG4 Mini Split 12k BTU. I connected my subpanel to the unit using the 30amp outlet. The unit comes with everything you need to get started. I decided on this unit over a DIY solution (EG4, etc) because of how clean and easy the wiring/setup was and for the safety. Also, since I work out of the shed, I didn't want a loud inverter running in the background. This unit is very quiet and I don't think I've ever heard the fan kick in. ... show more

  • No joy for me.
The media could not be loaded. Update one month in. Short version it has not worked for me. Will be returning. Still unit seems well designed and built, just does not work. Unit shows that it should run for at least 2 hours with a 300 watt draw, but then goes into ‘overload’ and shuts down. With lower load 150 watts, says it should work for 4 hours but still goes into overload and shuts down. Have talked to EcoFlow they seem willing to exchange it, but By the time that happens the Amazon return window will close so it’s going back. ————- Original review. I have had several of these devices and am so far very impressed with the EcoFlow. I need something that can provide ~1200 pure sine watts for a few hours while plugged into my car 12v. The EcoFlow can provide the watts and operate while plugged in (many can't). The second use will be to run my small car fridge and I doubt it will even break a sweat doing that. I already have a second battery in my rig, but I really don't want to run the thick cables I would need for a 1200watt inverter. This EcoFLow solves that problem - draws power at 8 amps from my aux battery and can provide many more amps for short uses. Much smaller and lighter than I expected as well, which is a nice plus. The app has several good features - including the ability to limit the charge and discharge of the battery for longer life (I set 10% reserve on the low end and 95% on the high end). Most of the wear on batteries is when you get to fully discharged or charged. You can also control the charge rate on AC (200-900 watts) and set the timeouts for various outlets. Really nice features. FYI I would never charge at the 900 watt range unless you had and urgent reason - slower charge rates will extend that battery life as well. Seems really well built with good features and will do exactly what I ask. I will update with any problems. One thing I noticed is the cooling far is pretty loud when charging on AC, but it effective and moving the heat out of the device. ... show more
