Using a firmly mounted external heater drastically increases lifespan on the internal components by not exposing them to 210 degree heat. American Extractors includes a 25' vacuum and solution hose assembly with a mesh drawstring bag and a 50' twistlock power cable. EDIC's outstanding warranty is 2 years for parts and labor. The polyethylene body on the Galaxy has a lifetime warranty. EDIC has been innovating and manufacturing durable floor and carpet care equipment since 1975.

This machine is the best! I have the big green machine as well. This Edic cleaner does a way better job at cleaning the carpets and drys much faster. I suggest getting the external heater. The suction is so powerful, your carpets are dry in a couple of hours. The HOT water is what cleans your carpet. It doesn't have rollers or brushes because it doesn't need them. They do nothing but break down your carpet fibers. It's the HOT water that cleans. I have two German Shepherds in the house and this machine is excellent at tackling their messes. As for the stairs, it is so easy to use on the stairs, and cleans them better than anything I've ever used. I've had Bissell and many other shampooers, and nothing has come close to cleaning like the edic. I've had mine for a year now, and I can see this will by far outlast any other machine I've had in the past. It's worth every penny! ... show more

We have had the professional version of the rug doctor for our home for a few years. It has been well used among our family. Not only does the Edic surpass the rug doctor in every way, it's not even in the same playing field! This thing holds around 12 gal, where our rug doctor only held about 2. We chose the optional heater with the EDIC so we don't have to constantly put hot water in, the heater does it for us. And let's just face it, hands down the best steam cleaner, even at home owner level for those that want professional results without calling someone every time the carpet gets stains from kids or pets. ... show more

    • Never worked from day one...
There are no rollers, no agitator, nothing to scrub or work the carpet, but oh well, considering the $1800 machine did not work at all made that a moot point. We followed directions, 3 times, but it was as if the on/off switch wasn't connected to anything. The little light thingy came on, but the machine did nothing. Just sat there, like a really expensive door stop. TOTAL waste of money! Too bad one cannot leave a negative star review. ... show more

Very good carpet cleaner to start a small business. Only thing I have experience it with the heater yet.I haven't purchased that part yet. But does some awesome cleaning. The only problem I had was I bought this carpet cleaner from Amazon like new but used & it had a small leak when I used it.

I've done carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning for many years so just to clean the carpets and upholstery three times at my house would pay for the machine and works great cleaning automobile carpets and cloth seats too.
