I bought two of these, one for a gaming PC & the other for a large Sony flatscreen TV. I had tons of other options that were much cheaper and more compact in size, but I wanted something that would protect my stuff well! I've owned these for well over a year, and they are still working perfectly. The packaging for this was very compact (no wasted extra paper or plastic), and I was kind of surprised how well these were made (they don't look or feel cheap at all for the price). About the only minor negative thing I can think of is the green light, that comes on every time you turn on the Echogear surge protector. It's a little strong when you're trying to watch a movie in a completely dark room, but that's a pretty minor nitpick. I have been using this for a while now. I had some issues previously with surges caused during storms. Since I have been using this product, I have had no appliances damaged from surges.

    • DUMP the APCs
Up in Maine on the end of the line, I needed an APC Battery Back-Up unit. Now on a more reliable electrical grid, with few electrical issues these units pull their weight in surge protection. I am no longer replacing APC units at $200 a pop, but relying on these simple but effective protectors.

The Echogear 12 Outlet Surge Protector is both functionally outstanding and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Meaning dazzlingly beautiful, magnificent, characterized by virtuosic brilliance, wonderful, and delightful, as power strips go. I ordered two and am ordering more.
