If you have a device where the heat sink is mounted on (and resting on) the heated item, and the item isn't moving much (like a desktop PC) this will work just fine. The adhesion is not very thermally conductive, but it works. In such occasions, I would recommend thermal grease instead. If your item requires the heat sink to be mounted vertically (which mine is), or facing downward, the adhesion will loosen. The adhesion is very poor on these units! Both in cooling as in sticking to the item to cool. In this case, I would go with the cheaper non-adhesion units, and use a thermal epoxy. Where might it work well? Well, if you have an item that is mostly stationary, but occasionally can be moved (like a radio, or a desktop PC), but that for the most part remains vertically oriented (with sink mounted horizontal, facing up). The adhesion is just enough to prevent the heat sink from falling off through low lateral motion. In short: I wouldn't by these. I would buy the non-stick, and provide your own sticky solution. A dual sided tape, or some plain epoxy mixed with carbon provides better stickyness and heat transfer, than the adhesion used on this sink! ... show more

The heasinks worked as I expected. I had the intended goal of lowering my graphics cards rear memory temps. These heatsinks expanded my surface area and took advantage of the airflow from my fans to dissipate heat via these heatsink's fins that would otherwise heatsoak a backplate and co tribute to much higher temps. Of course application will vary as these can be use for anything trying to be kept cool. Happy with this purchase for my application. Recommend! ... show more

If you're looking for a cooling solution for a NEMA17 stepper that takes about 10 seconds to instal, this is what you want. Got these for my CR-10S after installing the stepper dampers. With the vibration isolators, the motors couldn't sink heat into the frame and would get really toasty. These are a perfect solution to that. my prusa mk3s extruder stepper was getting too hot for my tastes. I added these to bring the temps down. only draw back (cant fault the product) is that they are bit too large for the mk3s extruder lever side. so I only have 3 of them (top, front, left)

When installing these heat sinks on your Ender 3 Pro stepper motors (or other printer motors) be aware of a possible mechanical conflict with the plastic leveling knobs under the printer bed. During "homing" you might hear a heart stopping crash while moving in the Y direction. Fear not! Just get out your Dremel Tool and hack off a few of the blades on the heat sink. I returned them. For the price, I thought I was getting copper. It’s copper-colored aluminum. I think they purposely leave out that fact in the title. I also prefer to use quality thermal pads (12W/mK) instead of the 0.8W/mK adhesive ones on these. The separate ones aren’t sticky but they still stay put. I like the AI AIKENUO 1.5mm 100x100 pad. Best value for the price and even when used vertically, the heatsinks stay put without falling off. ... show more

I installed these on my Prusa MK3S Extruder Motor in order to pull some heat away from assembly. I placed three on the stepper motor and it definitely made a difference. No problems with adhesion and they have been on for about a month now.
