Top Amazon Reviews

  • Great value, don't expect what you see in the pictures
Size: 12 Houseplants (2-inch Nursery Pots)
1 of 12 plants arrived severely bruised and died. 2 others lost foliage. The remainder were of hardier varieties and had no apparent issues. The soil in 11 of 12 plants was dripping wet, the 12th plant was bone dry and the plant was slightly wilted. No labels or growing instructions were included, so I'm not sure what most of the plants are exactly or what growing conditions they require. This is sold by Amazon, fulfilled by a 3rd party. I reached out to the 3rd party, through an email they provided in the package, but they did not respond within 2 business days. I'm guessing multiple 3rd party wholesalers provides these plants for Amazon, which would explain the myriad of experiences in the reviews. I re-potted all surviving plants today, 6 days after receipt, having allowed the soil to dry out so it would could be removed from the roots more easily. 4 of 12 were approaching root bound stage and were definitely ready to be re-potted. 3 more had well developed root structures and I'm confident will do well. The remaining 4 I likely should have left in their current container for now, but I figured the damage was done by checking and went ahead with it - I only have concerns with 1 of these 4, but it did visibly perk up after being transplanted. Now - back to value for money - I received 2 types of ivy and something I'm not at all familiar with. I made the call to split these as part of the re-potting process and ended up with 15 total plants added to my collection. The features Amazon asks us to rate are giftable, value for money, and easy to grow. • Giftable - yes, but I wouldn't gift them unless you know somebody that truly wants a truly random assortment of small plants (do not expect the mix resembling what you see in the photos, for instance i only received 1 planter with a pothos (it had 3 starts within it) • Value for Money - They were the best bang for the buck choice, at the time of purchase, and my experience indicates that you might get better value than advertised. • Easy to grow - most likely these are all plants that are understood to be easy to grow - but if you don't know what you've received, you won't know how to care for it. I was actually hoping to receive a pothos heavy mix, as shown in the photos. I have a massive north facing window that gets beautiful indirect sunlight. Pothos are a hardy plant and do exceptionally well through shipping. Bottom line, but only 1 week later, I think going forward I will buy just the plants I want, but I haven't ruled out rolling the dice on another set. ... show more

  • Better than expected
Size: 12 Houseplants (2-inch Nursery Pots)
After reading the reviews, I purchased these plants expecting one sick plant that would die soon after arriving, or already dead when it arrived. I figured that left me with 11 others that lived or died because of my care. I could go with those odds. I was pleasantly surprised. I did have one plant, a begonia, that was slightly sickish. I know, that's not a word. So I expected the begonia to be my token sacrificial plant. Nah. It wasn't sick! I just don't know begonias. All of the plants were tiny, in these adorable teeny tiny pots. Most had tags telling me about them. I want to say maybe four or five didn't. Thank God for Google lens. I repotted them, trying to keep like together, sprayed with a bug killer just in case, and put sun lovers outside and shade lovers in the window . Every one of my plants have taken off. The growth is crazy! I just had to repot them and I'm assuming I will have to repot again in another month. My "sick" begonia, perked up within hours of being repotted and is gorgeous! My wandering Jew has flowers. I didn't know they flower! I tend to kill plants but the company tags were super helpful and I have tried to stay on top of whatever the plants need. In repayment, the plants are thriving, except the ivy. I seem to be killing the ivy but I mean, I've had it over a month and it's only just now going "forget it" and throwing in the towel? If any one has advice so I don't actually kill the ivy, I'd really love some help! It had seemed to be doing good, had doubled in size and then about a week ago it started getting brown leaves. Am I over watering, maybe? I reread the tag and it did say to let it dry out before watering again so maybe I'm messing up there. I don't know. I will say, all plants came in great condition, even probably the begonia. They were not dried out or root bound and the tags were super helpful and informative. Great beginner plants and well worth the price. You will be pleasantly pleased if your new to plants or believe you have a black thumb. I have a black thumb and somehow they are thriving! ... show more

  • Packaged and shipped with care
Size: Pack of 6
With the exception of the questionable begonia, the plants arrived in excellent shape. Each one was in a bag, cinched, but open at the top for air flow. A stick was added to each pot to prevent crushing. Each little pot then was put into its own cell in the box, with a warming pad tucked underneath the cells to keep them warm in transit. There was also a very healthy little air plant thrown in as a gift. Really outstanding care. If I judged this order on 3 of the 6 plants alone, it would be a 5+++ star rating. I deducted only one star, but for multiple reasons. 1. Two plants came unlabeled. One is obviously some type of begonia, but I can't tell what type. The other one, I have no clue as to what it is, but it's pretty and seems very healthy. 2. The (most likely) begonia is looking pretty trashed. It's wilty, and most of the leaves are beat up with rips, dry brown spots, and crispy edges. It really shouldn't have been sent out in that shape. 3. While it's in healthy shape, I really don't feel like the polka dot plant should be included in this grouping. They're not great house plants, quickly getting leggy without lots of pinching back, and really only last about a year. This makes sense, because as outdoor plants, they're considered an annual. I consider them "gimmick plants" as they generally appear in grocery stores around Easter. These are my only complaints, and with all three combined, I still only removed one star. The remaining three plants are the Wandering Jew, the ivy, and the pothos. All three appear bright and healthy. On the basis of these plants, the overall condition of 5 of the 6, and the exceptional care given to the packaging and shipping, I give this order 4 stars. ... show more
