    • Not as good as my gas heaters
I have three different gas heaters in our backyard. They heat very well so I wasn’t too sure how well this electric one would work. It doesn’t heat anywhere near as well as my gas ones but if you were sitting around a 4 or 6 person table and had this heater in the middle it will keep your front side warm. Once you get more than 2ft away from it though the heat dissipates so much that you don’t feel it that much. It I sat upright, close to the table I could feel the heat well. If I sat back in my chair I could barely feel it. The heat from my smaller gas heater can be felt 4-5ft away. My larger heater you can feel the heat almost 10ft away. Also, if you place it on an end table or a table between some chairs your legs feel the heat but your upper body won’t. You need to be sitting below the heater. The heater does come with 3 levels of heating. For everything I mentioned above, I was on the highest heat level. There is also a time you can set to have the heater shutoff automatically. I found the timer and heat adjustment buttons to be very finicky and they didn’t always register when I touched them. There is also a manual on/off toggle switch in the base near where the electrical cord comes out. The base is around 15” in diameter. It has a tip over safety mechanism that will turn it off if the heater is knocked over. The base of the heater does get very hot after the heater has been on for a while. It isn’t enough to burn your hand if you accidentally touch it. I could keep my hand on it and it was almost unpleasantly hot. If you have small children around I don’t think they’d get burned but it probably would scare them if they touched it. If you have a small table or outdoor bar area this might be a good heater for you. If you are trying keep more than a 4’x4’ area warm then you should look at something larger or go with a gas heater. ... show more

I ordered this 1500 watt heater to extend my time on my screen in porch through the fall. It’s a nice sturdy, well-made heater that gives off a good amount of heat. It also comes with a remote but you need to be almost directly in front of the remote reader eye for the remote to work. The remote does not come with batteries. There are three heating levels, one through three with three being the max heat. There’s also a safety feature that when the unit is tipped over it immediately goes off. It’s quite heavy so you want to make sure the table you are placing it on is sturdy and able to hold the weight of this heater. Very pleased with this heater. ... show more

It fit well on my square patio table also from Amazon. The amount of heat this thing can produce is perfect for those cooler nights. We have a projector we like to use outside for movies so we needed something like this to help keep us warm. Heat can be felt from a good distance away and from most angles. First off, do not let the photo deceive you! The heater is a tabletop heater, not the large heaters you see in a restaurant. With that said, it's a great heater! It emanates much heat and heats up quickly. It was packaged well, arrived fast, and was easy to assemble. It is waterproof though we haven't left it outside in the rain and plan on bringing it in during the wet winter days so that it lasts. It has a USB port to charge your phone while outside, so that's cool. I recommend it and may buy another one. ... show more

The heater came well packed. The set up was very easy. Perfect timing for receiving it because it is in the 40s outside tonight, so it’s been on for the past several hours. The 3 heat level options are great. I started with one and now it is on level 3. It is very warm. My dogs were scared of it at first, but then they noticed the heat and now they are loving it as much as I do :) The remote control is very useful. I put two AAA batteries in it. I actually like the height of it. For me it’s better than the tall heaters. Also it’s electric, so it’s so much easier! There is only one thing I don’t like about it- the sound when you change the heat level. It’s pretty loud. But of course I don’t use it often; hence, I am ok with it. Overall it’s a great heater. This is so nice. I’ve always wanted to get one of those propane heaters but the propane part kinda freaked me out. I love that this is electric! Easy to setup - Controller works fine though do not expect crazy range (works through glass no problem) We leave our controller on the shelf just inside the house, turn on the unit and by the time we get out with the dog its up and heating. Easily provides warmth for us on the porch, usb port actually comes in handy from time to time ... show more
