Bought this product; when it arrived I could tell it had been used previously but figured I would try anyway. My uncle has the old red version. Planted okra today went through 280 seeds in a hurry and in a very small space. Definitely have to lean to the right to pick up seeds. We are going to see how it planted here pretty soon. For comparison I plan on planting 2 rows of okra with the older version to see if seed consumption was as high. Hoping for good results as it’s been rated very highly. ... show more

This is a really cool piece of equipment. It comes with multiple "dies" (if that's the right term) to use for different sized seeds. The only problem is that it is really light weight and needs level, soft ground to run over. Our application is on less flat soil areas, so it was a challenge to keep it upright. Seems to pop out more than 1 seed at a time with planting corn. Unless the ground is freshly plowed, as in that day and not the next, the chain doesn't cover the seeds very well. Otherwise it is a great little planter for our half acre corn plot!

Works great as far as planting seeds but the little marker stick on the side is useless, it might work in a smooth garden but mt garden it didn't work, but all in all a great little machine better then getting on your hands and knees planting

planted 10 rows of corn with this. unless you basically have a garden with potting soil consistency then this will be a PITA to use. clumps up, skips, doesnt work. i planted 10 rows of corn. an entire bag. and not 1 of them sprouted. i planted exact same corn by hand in another spot and every one of them sprouted. it comes with no instructions other then pictures on the box, the row marker will not stay in the holder no matter what you do. the angle of the handle is to steep. so when pushing its pushing down instead of forward and causes it to dig instead of glide. it is very flimsy and for the price i would not recommend. ... show more
