  • Great Flying Lil Plane
Style: Ready-To-Fly
I've been flying RC aircraft for over 50 years and wanted a small and slow aircraft that I could fly in my backyard while relaxing in the evenings with a cool beverage. The UMX Night Vapor fit the bill perfectly. It's very easy to fly, even for a new comer with the built-in stabilization. The stabilization can be turn-off for that more spirited pilot. When flying outdoors, best to fly when there's little to no wind, since this lightweight aircraft can easily be blown into the trees. The plane can be flown indoors, but unless the plane is flown in a large area, such as a gymnasium, maneuverability will be limited. Durability is good, however if you fly the plane into an hard obstacle at maximum speed, it will break. Also, handle the aircraft gently - it's delicate. Keep the original eFlite box for storage. Setup was easy, charge the battery, insert battery into aircraft battery holder with hook and loop (Velcro), turn on the transmitter, plug in aircraft battery and fly. The hook and loop attachment for the battery can sometimes let loose, so a small hook and loop tie wrap is more useful. YMMV ... show more

  • Well worth at least six stars.
Style: Bind-N-Fly
I don't give out 5 stars, this deserves it. Do you want slow flight? Fast flight? Indoor flight? Night Flight? This has all of it. Yes, you will need to tune it up before it will fly true, but you really need to do that with EVERY plane you build or buy. This thing is fun, safe, and will allow you to build your skills up. The lights are bright as Hades for day flights, but seriously shine at night. Get yourself some nice 150mAh 1S batteries and it will last you a good long time. I get right around 15 minutes per flight, and this really is a GREAT time, its just enough time to really enjoy flying, and gives you a good amount of time to rest up. SAFE mode and AS3X work great. Binding is simple, programing is simple, and the instructions are well written. There is no upgrade you need to install into your transmitter, simply set up a 3 channel air-frame (set up a 4 channel if you don't have the option to drop the ailerons). My rudder and my elevator were not even close, but its pretty simple to to tune them up. Take your time, fly slow and enjoy the learning. This will give you everything you need to learn to fly fixed-wing A/C if that is your goal. Otherwise, this is a fun little flier when the winds are dead and/or at night. ... show more

  • Dumb battery design flaw. Super fragile.
Style: Ready-To-Fly
Like other said, in normal flight the battery fell out and snapped the super tiny wires connecting the battery to the ESC. Couldn't be fixed. I bought another one, taped those wires together AND put a little velcro around the battery. That kept it from falling down, but it's so light that slight amount of tape and velcro threw off the center of gravity. So I figured I'd remove that, and while gently taking the velcro I snapped one of the teeny plastic frames for the elevator. Super glue didn't fix it. Junked it. Moving on to something else. The first day I had it, it was a blast. Second day a little wind and not a lot of fun. ... show more

  • Great indoor flyer!
Style: Bind-N-Fly
Our local flying club has access to the high school gymnasium on Saturday nights. This little plane was sensational It flew nice and steady as we flew in between the larger 3D aircraft doing stunts. It is so light that, if you get near any of the air vents, the plane would shudder in the slight air current created by the ducts. It was so easy, I was able to hand the transmitter to an inexperienced flyer and he was flying around the gym without a problem. The battery holder tray was a little loose and allowed the battery to drop free during flight; changed the center of gravity in mid-flight. A small length of rubber band now secures the battery. The plane is so light that I have my doubts on whether it is a good idea to ever fly it outdoors. Maybe...just not sure.... Great for my indoor needs though! ... show more

  • Easy to Fly
Style: Ready-To-Fly
This plane is very lightly built. The only problem I noted is that the velcro that holds the battery comes loose easily. Save the box for storage and transport. When you fly it, you want very calm conditions.

  • Great slow flight to learn with.
Style: Ready-To-Fly
I was impressed with how easy this little plane was to fly in small spaces. It's slow-moving but turns quick when you need it to. It feels fragile, but that just may be me being over cautious. You definitely wouldn't want to fly it on a windy day, I imagine it could get blown away fairly easy. Great for large indoor rooms (in a gymnasium would be amazing) or small outside areas with little to no wind. ... show more

  • Lovely bird
Style: Ready-To-Fly
Great product. The first time a went to fly it, it was a little windy the plane took off and went climbing and climbing with the wind and it went far away into the sun. I never saw it again. I lost it on my first try. I recommend flying this indoors. Is like a kite with no string. The wind will take it away if you fly it outside. ... show more

  • Slow flyer for beginners but fragile
Style: Ready-To-Fly
I bought this as a backyard flyer. I found this plane to be fragile. I had a hard landing, nose first and the propellor shaft broke. I ordered a new gear assembly and found the old one very difficult to remove. The replacement did the same thing. The motor also runs hot so I replaced it. The replacement was the same. The heat actually softened the motor mount to the point it got soft and deformed causing some flight issues. The plane is a great backyard flyer and fun to fly when working. I while hope the motor assembly gets redesigned to be more robust and easier to work on. ... show more
