They were either cheap feeling, color chipped or oxidized in the dishwasher when they were dishwasher safe. Let me tell you not only am i absolutely pleased with this set in looks they feel like a set you would pay hundreds for. They are a nice weight, classy design, the shine is pleasing, and they wash in the dishwasher very nicely and are not cheap feeling at all. The serving pieces are well made and lightweight but not cheap looking. They compliment the silverware set I purchased. I like that the fork tines are evenly spaced and not tapered at the ends. The etched handles dress up the look of the pieces. I bought this silverware and 2 serving sets for everyday use. After a few washings I am very pleased with the style and usefulness of these items.
