This is the greatest little vac! It is lightweight, vacuums hardwood/tile well, and takes up very little storage space. I find I am vacuuming much more often now because it is just so fast and easy to use. I have not touched my full sized Dyson in weeks! It can vacuum rugs, but it probably would not be good for a whole room of wall-to-wall carpet. It's perfect for hardwood, though. I only have one carpeted room, so I just use the roomba in there. ... show more

    • Vacuuming made EASY!
I love that this is so light and non corded so it’s a breeze to use! The head swivels nicely to clean any surface and there are attachments for more specialized use. The battery doesn’t last a super long time if you are using it on the strongest setting, but easy to use, empty and small to store!

I am very happy with the suction. It works well on both tile floors and rugs. I am a little disappointed in the battery life. It says 40 minutes, but it dies after 15-20 minutes. Maybe it is due to having it on the heavy suction mode?? It was easy to break apart and use as a hand vacuum. It is light weight. The charging station is nice, everything has it’s spot. ... show more

This vacuum has gotten more use than any other vacuum I've purchased in the past. The battery does not last very long though if you keep it on the high powered setting. I use it as needed. Also, the button can be a pain to have to hold down to vacuum a lot of space. But the convenience of all of the easy attach attachments makes it worth it. I finally found an out of the way but easily accessible space to hang the hardware for easy charging- that made it even easier to keep to charged and neatly put away.     • My favorite vacuum ever
I am so happy that I've purchased this. I've used it weekly for about a month - and so far I love it! I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and was looking for a stick vacuum that could handle both hardwood floors AND carpet. This was a great choice. My previous vacuum was pretty bulky and it was very loud and started to smell when I used it, so I dreaded vacuuming. I would do it like every 6 months or even once a year (I really, really hate vacuuming), and with 2 cats and myself, who has long hair, that was not good. So once I moved to a new place, I vowed to do vacuuming once a week. This Dyson stick vacuum is perfect for that. It is not as loud as my previous vacuum so that is pretty nice. The suction is amazing so it picks up a lot of hair/fur from my floors. Vacuuming is no longer a dreaded chore. I also love how it is super easy to empty the container - I empty it every time I use it. I hated emptying my old vacuum because it was such a big event, but for this one, it's a matter of pulling it open and boom - the container is open and the contents easily drop into the trash. The vacuum doesn't take up a lot of space, so when I'm done, I can store it in a small closet. I know others have commented on the battery life - honestly, that may be an issue if I lived in a home with lots of rooms to cover. But I think it's perfect for apartments. I can vacuum my bedroom multiple times before I have to recharge it. Anyways, I do think it's worth it. It is pretty expensive, but so far it has been worth every dime. My parent's Dyson vacuum has lasted decades... I hope this one lasts forever too. ... show more

    • Love this model of stick Dyson vacuum!
I bought this one as a gift but knew it would be good because I have one in my home and love using it. The reason I love this model more than some of the other more expensive Dyson stick models is the ease in emptying the reservoir with the vacuum stick still on it. You just hold it over the garbage can, pull up the top lever, then the bottom cover opens and the dirt falls into the can. Shake a little to make sure it emptied, push shut the top lever, push up the bottom cover and you are ready to vacuum some more. So easy! I have used a Dyson 11 stick model: it’s bigger, heavier, probably would run longer with a bigger battery but you have to do the extra step of removing the implement before emptying the dirt. And then you have to line it up straight to get it back on again. Nope, I love my model 8 much better!!! ... show more

    • Horrible Battery Life
Great vacuum cleaner. It's lightweight. Easy to use. I like the attachments and how easily to converts to a handheld vacuum. The suction is outstanding. Here is what I absolutely hate about it and what ruins everything else for me: the battery life. It lasts so little. Especially if you use the turbo option. It lasts less than 30 minutes. It's super disruptive when cleaning and you're stuck waiting for it to charge so you can continue using it. I have heard the Dyson V15's battery life is way better. I wish I would've gotten that instead. I know it's more expensive. It's a huge disappointment because this vacuum is not cheap. It's several hundred dollars. And I think it's so disrespectful to the consumer spending all this money on a vacuum cleaner for us to not be able to fully use it as intended because the manufacturer couldn't produce a better battery. Having to stop and recharge every 20 to 30 minutes is a joke. I'll be returning it. ... show more
