    • Great Cordless but short battery life.
The media could not be loaded. I really love my Dyson. But two glaring mistakes stick out with this one. First, the battery dies FAST! We thought it was too fast and even had Dyson send us a replacement- nope. Just dies fast is all. You'll get about 30 minutes on reg power and about 15 on high. Then, it takes like 3 hours to charge. Second? The design of the wall hanger is weird. Every time we hang up to charge we have to really give it a good push and it's gotten to the point that tie cord is now permanently bent. Hopefully we dont meed to replace in a year. Other than that, the suction is SUPERIOR to anything else on the market, which is I guess what we pay for. So, I'm still happy I bought it, but a longer battery life and less charging time would definitely be helpful. ... show more

I LOVE this vacuum. After decades of throwing away other vacuums that would only last a few months before they started losing suction and blowing out smelly air (despite replacing filters and cleaning regularly), I decided to purchase a Dyson. I do not regret my decision one bit! The V8 is so lightweight and easy to maneuver. While the dust collection cup is small, it’s easy to empty and works fine in my small home. So versatile and goes from carpet to hardwood to tile seamlessly with no adjustments necessary. Super durable. I have long hair, a toddler, and a 75 lb dog and a cat and this vacuum handles it all with ease. It picks up dust and dirt, hair, food crumbs, cat litter, leaves… the list goes on. I love the charging rack that holds all the accessories and vacuum. Looks nice in the laundry room. Easy to change out accessories and I’ve used it to vacuum furniture and remove cobwebs from the ceiling and crumbs from my daughter’s car seat and high chair. It’s never clogged or lost suction. The max power option is nice to get dirt from deep in the carpet. Charge lasts a long time. I love that parts can be replaced if they ever stop working, rather than replacing the whole vacuum. ... show more

Best Vacuum I have ever owned! I love how it handles the dog fur my house accumulates from 2 GSDs (one of which is part husky 🤦🏽♀️). The cordless feature is a game changer. The handle detaches so easy which makes it so convenient to vacuum up quick messes or the dog’s favorite chair. It charges quickly as well. My vacuum really never gets put away because I vacuum so often, but it still hides in a corner well. ... show more

    • Works great but poor battery life
I've had the vacuum for several months and right out the box I was a little disappointed in the battery life. At first I was getting about 20mins max battery life. Now, only a few months later, the battery life is about 10 mins. Not even enough to vacuum my den properly, much less the rest of the hardwoods in the house. The charge time is relatively long so it's usually the next day before I am able to continue where I left off. I will say that the performance is quite good. It easily sucks crumbs and pet hair out of corners without the vacuum being directly over it. When trying to vacuum couch cushions, the extreme suction almost locks the head to the cushion and bogs down the beater bar and almost instantly trips the beater bar motor. Then you have to let off the trigger and depress it again for the beater bar to resume. On hard surfaces, it works amazing. The only two complaints as mentioned would be the short battery life and the inability to vacuum upholstery. ... show more

Nightmare with Dyson V8 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner I want to share my frustrating experience with Dyson here—maybe someone from their team will see it. I bought a Dyson V8 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner on Amazon in early July. One month in, it stopped charging, and the dust container jammed. I contacted Dyson support, sent it in for repair, and was told it was fixed within two days. They asked me to pick it up from their service center, which is very far from me. I asked if they could send it back to me, and they said they'd check with the repair center and get back to me within a couple of days—no one ever did. After two days, I followed up, and they gave me the same response. By the third time, they said it had been sent out four days ago (without notifying me), but I missed the delivery because I was at work. It was returned to the service center. I called Dyson again, explained my situation, and they sent it again (so they said), providing a tracking number. After a week, there were still no updates. I contacted the service center, and they told me it wasn't their responsibility anymore; I needed to contact UPS. UPS informed me that the package was lost in transit. I reached out to Dyson support again, even speaking to a supervisor, who promised it would be resolved within a week—and if not, they'd send me a new machine (another false promise). A week later, Dyson said UPS had found the machine and would return it to the service center, after which they'd send it back to me. Two weeks passed with no updates. When I followed up, Dyson told me UPS still hadn’t delivered the machine to their service center. After asking for a supervisor again, I was suddenly told I needed to pick it up from the service center in Plainview, NY—where it had apparently been sitting all this time! When I asked them to ship it to me, they claimed they don’t ship cordless machines anymore, even though they did so just a month ago. Despite escalating to a supervisor once again, I’m still waiting for my vacuum. ... show more
