Description

The Dyson V15 Detect Pro is a powerful, intelligent cordless vacuum to clean around your business. Two click-in batteries provide up to 120 minutes of run time,1 and with an extra filter you always have a spare clean, dry filter on hand. A piezo sensor intelligently optimizes power and run time based on the debris picked up, reporting it all on the LCD screen.³ The de-tangling Digital Motorbar™ cleaner head deep cleans carpets and hard floors and adapts suction power to floor type. Its versatile cordless format transforms into a handheld vacuum with one click so you can clean up high, down low, and everywhere in between.¹In Eco mode on hard floor. Run time will vary based on power mode, floor type and/or attachments used. 120 minutes run time is based on consecutive use of two separate battery packs.​²Compared to the Dyson V8™.³Accuracy may vary. Yes I have a good corded vacuum that really sucks, but I have to use an extension cord to get around the house and it isn't very nimble. I also have a cheap cordless that had pretty good reviews, and that is okay for surface debris but it isn't very strong, especially the carpet brush, which slows down. But this V15 pulled so much dirt out of the carpet I had to empty it quite a few times while I vacuumed the Entire House, including under the couch, bed, tables, places the big corded vacuum won't go...it is very nimble. Fortunately it empties easily, I just emptied it outside on the grass (well country living has benefits). Otherwise I think I would cut a piece of cardboard to put over a waste basket, cut a hole in it, and empty it that way to avoid dust. I had to use the second battery only half way through this process. I have a mix of carpet and ceramic tile floors, and the Auto Suck feature adjusts between them, not bogging down on the carpet or wasting too much energy on the smooth floor. It is manually adjustable if you don't like Auto Suck. I bought a 3rd party flexible hose (6') to clean difficult places easier. I used the short power bar thing on the car seats and carpet which worked well. Pricey unit, and I put it off a long time, but I rather like it. Note: The V15 Pro model Doesn't have the laser in front like the V15 cheaper one, so no light at all... Too many models and features to keep track of. ... show more

    • Stop Using Disposable Portable Vacuums

Like most people I always thought Dysons were WAY overpriced for vacuum cleaners. So year after year we would buy $100 cordless vacuums only to discover within a few short weeks they had no filters, or the battery would only power the device for 7 or 8 minutes. Then we’d get rid of it and buy another one. Finally I decided to stop acting in an insane manner. Yes it’s a $600 vacuum, but it’s a GREAT vacuum. Runs forever on a charge (two batteries, but in a month we haven’t needed to recharge yet) picks up everything, adjusts to carpets and hard floors, has a washable filter and a two year warranty. We are Dyson people now. No more disposable vacuums. ... show more

All other vacuum cleaners are posers, IMPOSTERS!! Dyson is the real deal, and well worth the cost. Go to a place that sells vacuum cleaners and try - you'll see the difference and you won't be disappointed with the results.

This particular model doesn’t come with the tile and hardwood floor attachment which is the only one that has a laser. It only comes with the carpet floor attachment which doesn’t have a laser. Bummer

Gone are the days of bribing our kids to do chores! In our house, the fight is now over who gets to vacuum using the Dyson V15 Detect. That, in itself, should tell you how amazing this cordless vacuum cleaner is. Overall, the V15 is close to a perfect vacuum for our family. The incredible suction, cordless freedom, and versatile attachments make cleaning a breeze (and even a fun competition for our kids!). The battery life might be a slight concern for very large homes, but having two batteries helps. While the lack of the laser detection light might be a drawback for some, it has been fine for us. This is definitely an investment, but it's one that transformed our cleaning routine - and brought some unexpected joy to chore day! Need more details? Let me break it down further. Cordless Freedom, with a Caveat - The cordless design is a game-changer. We can zip around, clean the car, and tackle cobwebs in high corners or out on our patio - all without the hassle of a cord. The battery life is decent, but it depends on your needs. On average, we get about 41 minutes on the Auto level (mid-suction but also variable), which is perfect for most cleaning tasks. For larger homes, having two batteries included is a huge plus. Just swap them out while one charges. See the images above for a fully charged battery. Eco (lowest suction) 77 minutes of use. Auto (mid suction but variable to low or boosted based on what the Dyston determines the floor needs) 41 minutes. Boost (highest suction) 7 minutes. Unbelievable Suction Power—We recently had our carpets professionally cleaned, and you'd think they'd be spotless, right? Wrong! We ran the V15 over the same areas, and to our astonishment, the bin was filled with dust and debris. It's like magic (or Dyson engineering)! I hate to think about what was in/on my carpets before having the Dyson. Versatile Attachments for Every Nook and Cranny - The variety of included attachments is fantastic. We can clean furniture, reach into tight spaces in the car, and easily switch between our high-pile and low-pile carpets. This was a major concern for us, as previous new vacuums struggled with our thick carpets and ultimately had to be returned. The V15 handled them like a champ, and although there is a little extra effort to push it, it is not very much, even for a young child. Laminate Floors Too (but NO Fancy Light Show)—While the V15 detects works great on our laminate floors, this model doesn't have the laser dust detection feature some V15 models have. This might be a consideration if you have a lot of hard floors. For us, it wasn't a big deal, and I wonder if this is more of a gimmick feature than an actual useful tool that would be worth using up extra battery power for. ... show more
