  • Couldn't be happier!!
General Use Observations: We bought this bed about 10 days ago, but wanted to wait a little while to fully experience the mattress before reviewing the product to make sure we are truly satisfied with it. So far we have no complaints about it at all, and both my husband and I look forward to crawling in bed every night! He says I wake up less during the night, rolling over or trying to get comfortable. He and I both are no longer waking up with any soreness or aching. We are both side sleepers, and we have found that we can practically stay in the same position all night and not wake up feeling sore or achy from sleeping on that side for too long. Unpacking: It came in a tall box, maybe 4 or 5 feet long, about 2.5 ft sq wide, and weighed about 65 lbs. When we opened the box, it was rolled up (top to bottom) and wrapped in a couple layers of plastic that were vacuum sealed. Once we broke into the vacuum sealed inner layer of plastic, the mattress immediately began to expand. We cut all of the plastic away, unrolled the mattress, and set it on the bed. Within 4 or 5 hours it had expanded from maybe 4in. thick to about 10 or 11in. thick, which was most of its height. By the next day or two, it had completely expanded and filled up all of the space inside the beautiful cover. (The photo was taken the night we unpacked it, maybe 2-3 hours afterward) Chemical Smell: Everyone (including myself before purchasing) seems to be worried about the strong chemical smell that can be associated with memory foam beds. I have to say, once we opened the box, and cut open the plastic I did not immediately notice a chemical smell of any kind. After we finished unpacking it and set it up to expand on our bed frame, we shut the door and left it alone for a few hours. When I went back into the bedroom hours later, I did notice the smell for the first time, but by no means was it intolerable. It does smell a little bit chemical, but it's not a strong-fumes type of chemical smell, like that of kitchen & bathroom cleaners, bleach, etc. It isn't anywhere near that strong or that potent. After more than a week of use, I'd say the smell is completely gone now, but it didn't really bother us in the first place. Comfort Level: It is definitely a firm mattress, but not uncomfortably so. When I first sat on it, I began to immediately wonder if it was too firm. However, before I could really finish that thought I realized I was slowly sort-of melting into it and the material was conforming to me. There's no "push-back" feeling like spring-coiled mattresses, which is what we had before. Also it's much more dense than cheaper generic "their brand" versions found in locally-owned-type mattress stores. My parents have one of those types, a generic brand of memory foam mattress, that's essentially a giant magic-eraser-feeling sponge (and as light as one too). Hers is semi-comfortable, but is still nothing compared to this Dynasty mattress, and the cost difference between the two isn't even that extreme - probably only $150-$200. Considering this mattress was about $440, the extra money is WELL WORTH it. Temperature: Neither my husband nor I have found that we get hot during the night on this mattress. It was a concern of ours, since the mattress material isn't made up of natural materials and we assumed it wouldn't "breathe" well. However, the cooling technology they've infused in this model seems to really be worth it. My husband always goes to bed feeling hot, and I always go to bed feeling cold, so I was more concerned about him getting hot during the night. So far that has not been an issue for either of us. Included Pillows: We both have tried using them. They are comfortable for generic use, like if you want to use it on the couch for extra support (because they are both pretty firm), but for sleeping on it at night, I don't think either of us like them very much. They were free, so we aren't complaining about them really. It's always good to have extra pillows around the house for guests and memory foam pillows aren't that cheap, generally. These are maybe too dense, and maybe even too thick, as I've found when I have tried using it at night, my head is angled upward when laying my head on it. It's not necessarily uncomfortable --I've used worse pillows-- but it's not as good as the memory foam pillows we already had, with cooling gel pockets on one side. Those are all of the things I wanted to know before making our purchase. Hopefully my information helps some of you potential buyers out there who are looking at this mattress. My husband did find this mattress brand is rated highly all over various mattress rating sites (not just on Amazon). We really couldn't be any happier with it!! ... show more

  • by far the best mattress and investment I have ever touched
I will periodically come back to add more to this review. Let me first start off by saying that we just received this mattress; everything in this post will be from a high level and is meant to show potential buyers the clearest picture of what they may be getting themselves into...I can promise it won't be a disappointment. We received this mattress on Monday after having to go pick it up at fedex; this is not recommended as this box weighs 90lbs, is about 5.5 feet long, and a foot square in the cross section. This package was also 2 weeks late; this is not to be unexpected as it comes from overseas and is subject to customs and port traffic. With that said, the vendor did do a nice job communicating and making up for frustrations due to shipping. Please be aware that your mattress is compressed and coiled during shipping. What this means is that the mattress looks like a very long fruit roll-up and the mattress is initially only an inch or so thick. This worried me a bit and I questioned my logic for purchasing this mattress; don't let it question yours. The mattress expanded to about 8" thick in about 30 minutes and fully expanded from there within another 8 hours. I would not advises sleeping on it until at least 48 hours as the corners and other small areas can take the longest to expand. I also assisted the mattress by pulling up on the fabric cover periodically (essentially allowing the mattress to expand easier) and massaged areas that I felt where having problems...this seems to have helped dramatically because what you are doing is pushing air back into the mattress (something that was pushed out during the compression phase of packaging). The pillows were even worse off than the mattress; these looked like sheets and were coiled so tightly in the center of the mattress that all air was extracted from the mattress. These puffed to their full size within 8 hours; don't worry everything will return to it's full size with the power of atmosphere (air). My previous mattress was a 1800 dollar pillow top mattress that was extra plush so naturally I was a little worried when I read that people thought this mattress felt like concrete. I am unsure as to where they came up with that example and am really worried that they possibly slept on their mattress too soon and did not allow enough air into the mattress. If you do not allow the air to penetrate the mattress fully, you could very well get a hard and stiff bed as you will essentially have foam on foam instead of foam on air. Our first nights expereince sleeping on the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Yes the bid is firm but the bed gives way exactly where it needs to and no where else; fyi, this is what you want as it keeps your spine in line, and takes all of the pressure off of your body. It is not firm in the sense that it bothered me though; the bed actually felt 100 times better than my extra plush pillow top mattress. I slept so well that i woke up so confused because something was missing; what was missing was all of the pressure on my back and body (this is a welcome absences btw). I slept comfortably as well; not hot, not cold, just perfect temp (and I get hot very easily). The pillows are excellent and cradle your head just as well as the mattress cradles the body. They are thin but designed this way on purpose...if you had a thicker mattress your head would sink in and suffocate you...not a fun way to go. The motion isolation of this bed is incredible as well. For those of you that want a King size, I can't blame you because I did to, but this is overkill and not needed on a mattress like this (unless you want 3 people+ in your bed, i don't). What I think would be a better investment is the motion platform and I would really like to purchase one of these. In regards to value; This is the single most important aspect that I considered during my decision making on this and other beds. Let be real here, the average mattress is not cheap. Take into consideration that the average mattress also only lasts a good 4 years if you are lucky (they really last much longer but you have to tolerate issues) and the dollars add up over time. This is why I started looking at sleep numbers and memory foam mattresses due to longevity. Through much research, I determined that these mattresses don't last long enough to offset their cost; sure they last 10 years but you could purchase a couple innerspring mattresses and be cheaper and better off than purchasing a memory foam or sleep number What really would be the holy grail would be a cheap memory foam mattress; Sealy and serta have their own brands but with horrible reviews. Through my search I read thousands of reviews and finally found this gem. Ignore the fact that it is made in another country, that it is extremely cheap compared to a tempurpedic, and that it would be impossible to sleep in it until you have it (thus making returns a pain). You could literally buy this mattress once every 2 years, for 10 years, and still be at only half the cost of a similar tempurpedic. Think this means a degraded quality? Think again; the quality in this mattress is top notch and could easily last half the length of time of a tempurpedic from initial review. Don't let these other vendors tell you that it is complicated or expensive to make these mattresses because it simply isn't. It is a mixture of chemicals that are sprayed over and over until a mattress is formed. The process is not complex and many videos are on the internet of them being made. The cost difference between this and a tempurpedic is pure profit (probably much less than the cost of this one even as this company has to turn a dime too) . It is also much more comfortable than a tempurpedic ( I have slept in several ). I hope this helps...I would be willing to answer questions. At this point, I am hopeful to post another review or revision in a month, 6 months, and a year. We will see how well my memory holds up though. ... show more

  • Be cautious if the box is bulging as foam mattress plastic wrap may have been holed.
Size: King Style: 14" LaComfort
They say whatever ends well, ends well, but we did have a confusing issue when the box was delivered. First off, the box was in tuff shape. On inspecting the torn box, the inside plastic wrapping seemed fine, so I took delivery. Later upon removing the mattress from its vacuum bag I discovered the bag had been torn allowing the mattress to expand some and the cover to get a little dirty. Not a big deal. I allowed the mattress foam to expand for 2 days on a heated floor, sleeping side up. The mattrass expanded fine but the four corners took the longest to expand. The mattress cover, which was already on the mattress had some poor stitching which I will ask to be replaced. We tried the mattress out on the floor before moving it to the bed frame but found the mattress extremely firm. Much harder than expected. Upon looking at the mattress foam itself we found the mattress upside down inside of the washable cover. Maybe this was a practical joke, I don't know. But between manufacturing and shipping someone didn't know up from down. We took the cover off, flipped the mattress and put the cover on. Tested the top memory foam side up and were satisfied with the mattress. In reading earlier reviews some had commented the mattress was too firm. I wonder if others have had the same experience but didn't know it. I will be replacing the mattress in my 40-foot fifth wheel this summer and will consider a Dynasty Mattress for RV's. ... show more
