  • Works perfectly!
Style: 13,000-Watt Dual Fuel
This is what we use for backup power during outages. It’s been easy to set up and use. Noise level is normal for what it does. We set this up away from the house so the noise isn’t an issue. Great product!

  • Impressive
Style: 13,000-Watt Dual Fuel
We ordered this to replace a generator we lost in the storm that hit us before hurricane Helene. During Helene we limped along with two small generators while our friends lived in (relative) comfort with their DuroMax XP1300HX. We liked what we saw so we ordered one which we received today...just in time to prepare for hurricane Milton. From our friends' experience, we knew for the money it was a decent (nearly) whole house generator. What we didn't know was the attention to detail that came with it. It is made in China to the specs of a company in California so we weren't sure what to expect but It comes with solid (not inflatable) wide rubber tires that should be fine in our Florida sand. The paint looks good and thick. And, amazingly, it comes with both a colorful easy-to-read Users manual AND a Service manual! (No downloading tiny black and white print in a pdf file!) Also included are a selection of possible plugs you might need to create your extension cord. And, to top all that off, included are the tools you will need to assemble the tires, feet and handle are ALL in a handy little plastic case. I didn't think such things existed in our profit-driven corporate world and it is appreciated. But I do have a small criticism and two quick recommendations for others in our position. First, the criticism. When starting the generator with gas, the directions in the manual omitted a reminder to turn on the gas valve. This caused us a few minutes anxiety when it didn't immediately start. Second, the recommendations. The delivery company was excellent with communication but the generator did sit for several days just 30 minutes down the road...not a problem since our electricity had come back on the day before but a potential issue for someone else. If you find yourself in that situation, call the delivery company and they will explain the process for Amazon to allow them to release it to you directly so you can go pick it up. The other recommendation is based on our friends' experience. Their recommendation is to switch out the stock F6RTC spark plug with a RN9YC set to .20. Don't ask me why; maybe google can tell you. Thanks, DuroMax, for serenity in the face of Milton! See you all on the other side. ... show more

  • Powerful generator for whole house.
Style: 13,000-Watt Dual Fuel
I purchased this generator because it had great reviews. I had an electrician install a transfer switch for added safety. He fired it up today and it worked perfectly. I live in central California where we have 100 plus days for a month at a time. When the power goes out you can not survive without ac. I looked at possibly adding a solar battery wall to my existing solar. The best price I could get was 28k. My other option was a generac standby generator and best price was 18k. Both options for me financially were not feasible. So I then began doing research on portable generators. This DuroMax had enough power and could be ran on gas or propane! All in with paying an electrician and the generator itself was 5k. It was a no brainer for me and I could not be happier. Some of you may get it all done cheaper but I pay California rates for an electrician’s labor. ... show more

  • Worked like a charm during IAN
Style: 13,000-Watt Dual Fuel
I am sure glad I bought this back in May of 2022. (My wife thinks I am prophetic) Everything went together without any issues, bought a rain cover for it and a couple of 100 lb propane tanks, plus had an electrician come out and put in a manual switch on my fuse panel. He installed a trickle charger for the battery on the generator and I was all set. Then came Ian. We lost power about 6 hours into the storm and then for like 5 more days before the power came back. I only ran it during the day and shut it down at night and went through the 2 100 Lb propane tanks and was using a small 25 lb tank and only had one left. Didn't need it, power came back on. I ran it behind my garage where it was mostly out of the wind and rain. This generator worked like a charm. Started every time with no issues. I did have to add more oil but that was no big deal. Today I decided to run the generator (I will only use propane in this generator and would only put gas in in it for an extreme emergency) and notice the trickle charger was flashing and telling me it wasn't charging the battery. Did some trouble shooting, battery was dead no voltage, trickle charger worked on the car battery and my car battery charger would not charge the generator battery. Wasn't sure if the warranty covered the battery but when I called DuraMax Customer support and talked to Anthony Bustos he said he just needed the receipt which I emailed him. Less than 10 minutes on the phone with Anthony he did all the paperwork and said I would have my new battery in 5-10 days. Super nice guy and super GREAT service. Thank You Anthony and DuroMax! ... show more
