Less than a year after purchase the lift lifting mechanism stopped working. Nobody would repair, no service from Duravit. Will not specify this product nor recommend it to anyone.

It worked well for six years, then the internal power supply failed. Duravit doesn't offer repair service for this unit. Looks like I have to open it up and give it a go myself. For what it cost, you'd think they'd "price-in" support and repair service for it.

    • It's pretty good aside from two problems
I've had this seat for over a year. It's pretty good aside from two problems. (1) After about a year, the motor that lifts and holds the seat up started failing. The lid motor works fine, but the seat motor started failing and holding it part way up, and now it doesn't move it at all. Luckily, it's still holding once it's up, but I'm not sure if that will last. I'm guessing they have plastic gears inside that wear out. Now it also doesn't go down softly and slams every time. (2) Something about the placement of the seat (and this could just be the install), makes it quite while a male is sitting, for part of the stream to escape through the gap between the seat and the bowl, and ultimately trickle down to the bottom of the bowl, and drip onto the floor. You can avoid this if careful, but I've never had to think about it before this toilet! (3) Maybe it can be adjusted, but when the lid lifts up, it pretty much slams against the wall. I would expect better for such an expensive seat! ... show more

    • I have found that there is no easy way to get it repaired
The unit has broken within a year or so of its purchase. The engine tired out and doesn't lift the seat anymore. I have found that there is no easy way to get it repaired. The company website has referrals to retailers, but the retailers refer you back to Duravit...all in all a very sour experience

    • DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. STOPS WORKING AFTER 2 yrs. DRYER SMELLS. SERVICE SUCKS.
What did I expect? It is plastic with plastic gears. Almost $2,000 for the seat. I expected it to last longer than 2 years. The dry function smells horrible with no way to clean it. The service department doesn't provide service. They say bury it in the landfill and buy a new one. LOL. For $1,000 a year it should come with a butt wiper. A boat is a better investment. ... show more

We purchased a newly renovated home with two Duravit Senso wash toilet seats. Two seats, two malfunctions within a very short time frame. Could not be repaired and to replace was a customer service nightmare. One of my worst product/customer service experiences ever. Now we just want to get rid of them and be done with this company. Perfect design that looks awesome in any bathroom, modern or not. Simple to install and to use. Comfortable to sit on, which is critical because once you start using the spray, you will never want to stop. The spray is adjustable: cool but not too cold, warm but not hot. A firm spray, but not too hard, or a gentle spray, but not too soft. They nailed temp and pressure adjustment perfectly. The spray also adjusts in or out in 4 small increments to ensure you "hit the spot". It has an internal heater, so warm water is ALWAYS on tap, no waiting, ever. The seat is also nice and warm, because its a heated seat. Yes, for your toilet. Since we were all young, and potty trained, wiping was the way to clean up before washing hands and going on with life. Not doing so properly is never good. The best situation is to shower afterwards, then get dressed for the day, not always possible. This bidet toilet seat adds another level of feeling clean after doing your business, because you ARE VERY clean. Not using a bidet seat or water afterwards is like potting plants or doing yard work and then only wiping hands off with paper towl to clean up. Imagine washing hands without water. Just doesn't make sense. I'm hoping everyone installs these when they remodel. That way its NOT ONLY in my bathroom. ... show more
