11/18/2022: Through rain, and sleet, and snow... Still going strong. This is one of my life-savers. Not a moment of regret. 10/9/2021: Originally purchased 7/27/2020 and used it all summer into fall until the rains came. Came apart very easily to store for the rainy part of fall and into winter, then back out in the spring once the rain stopped. It's not perfect, but it is very good. It is a bit short on leg room, which is the main drawback, but the battery is very good. If running on a rocky surface or in the grass it doesn't hold a charge as long, but still very usable. It has saved me so many times now that I have trouble walking. Very thankful for my Phoenix. Almost time to put it away again because, for me, the battery is a challenge to put in and take out due to having to remove the seat every time. That's the hardest part for me since I have no help. I like to put it in once and charge it in place until my usage season is finished. Very handy having a charging port on the tiller as well as on the battery. I charge it weekly per the instructions and never more than 24 hours. Definitely a great purchase. I got mine sold by and shipped from Amazon and I've never regretted my decision. ... show more

I bought this scooter almost 4 years ago. I work in a large school and due to arthritis, could not get to places I needed to go without great pain. I am over 300 lbs and this scooter has held up very well. It comes apart easily and I can lift each part and battery up and into my SUV. I find it easier to load into an SUV than a trunk since I don't have to lift up and out when removing it. This scoot has changed my life. I can go to places that other wise I would have to miss out on. I love going to the farmer's market, sight seeing, conventions and sporting events. I am able to go to amusement parks without having to rent a scooter now. My scooter has been in grass, gravel, up hills, down hills, all over. My family loves me using it so they can put their bags and goodies in the basket. I am thinking about purchasing a rear basket for the family trips! With this scooter I can go anywhere! It has held up great and I have not had any mechanical problems with it. It is easy to drive and simple to take care of. I am going to be ordering another one in the next few weeks, not because there is anything wrong with this one, but I travel between here and another destination and decided it would be easier to have one at each place rather than haul it back and forth! I will have more room for luggage that way. If you are hesitant to purchase one of these scooter don't be. It can change your life! ... show more

    • The scooter does well on hills.
I Bought this scooter18 month ago because I had two knee surgeries and spinal surgery. My son was a senior in the High School marching band and I was determined to keep up with the band. This scooter takes the steep hills well, I even took it two miles to the top of a mountain. The battery is slow to charge ( hours) and the hill will drain the battery quick, however, if you stop and turn off the power every so often, you will go far. You only need to have the power off a minute or two and then you are good to go. This technique also works well when going to the mall or trying to be out for the day on the battery life. Now if you are only on flat land you will go longer. My longest battery life trip was 12 hours, up and down hills, about 3 miles with battery rest times. Also, if you have a power adapter in your van you can charge your scooter while you drive and the vehicle is running. The scooter will break down and fit into a car as small as the Nissan Sentra, it does not have a lot of leg room if you need to stretch a leg out however it can be done ( I'm 5'5') bearly. I love my scooter and it receives 4 stars because of its slow charging time and not to much leg room for injured knees. ... show more

    • Great Overall Scooter for Price and Good Battery Life!!!
Great scooter, I am a larger man (335lbs) and I was hesitant on this scooter but for the price I wanted to give it a shot. I am definitely impressed with it, comes apart easily (unlike the larger scooters) and fits right into my vehicle. I use it to go to parks like Universal Orlando and Seaworld and this overall performs well for 5-6 hours. The battery holds up fairly well, but with my additional weight and I am always at the highest speed as I am not an old man - I am happy with this scoot for the basic overall use. This is not meant for offroad stuff, grass, sand, dirt unless it is compacted like concrete and the clearance is minimal 2-3 inches even transitioning from sidewalk to streets you could bottom out. ... show more

Well I figure it's about time to write my opinion on the PhoenixHD4 after having it now for several months. It is a nice addition for an SUV if you are able to insert and remove it from the rear compartment of the vehicle, (2 people required) or you may need to purchase the additional item to transport it,(cargo carrier w/ramp) also 2 people required) or follow the disassemble instructions. In December we took a trip to Universal Studios Orlando and I was concerned as to the battery life while at the park. Well the batteries lasted throughout the day and we did find charging stations to be used as long as access was available; ie: as strollers or other carts were not blocking them. This as with any mobility equipment cannot be neglected when it comes to maintaining it, otherwise time will come when you need it and *&%$# left you stranded 1/2 mile from your vehicle! and as Paul Harvey would say "The Rest Of The Story" Now that stores are starting to add them to achieve customer accountability, one must consider weather its worth the price to have one, doing the maintenance yourself or sending it to a medical retail supply store and have them maintain it. (additional cost) The wife uses hers for when we go on long trips or vacation spots. As for now, paying extra will benefit in the long run. I love this scooter. I will have to purchase a trailer if I need to go somewhere with it. But for around the house and grounds, it works nicely.
