  • High quality and great for dogs.
First, I would like to say that I spent a long time researching many different inflatable kayaks, and I was looking for one in which I felt safe to take my 60 lb Dalmatian. I also have used an Intex Explorer K2 without doggo. The Voyager got my pick because of the build quality and expected durability. I haven’t taken it out on the water yet, so I can’t comment on the performance or actual durability. I have only inflated/assembled everything, and I am very impressed so far. The quality, comfort, and the ease of setup and tear down are exceptional. The pump inflates very fast, and also helps remove any air left when deflating, making it easier to fold up again. It has a very nice, durable fabric cover, so I am less worried about my dog riding in it. The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of room for extra gear. One thing I have seen in other reviews, and the Q&A section, is that the bag will only hold the kayak. This is not true. The bag holds everything - kayak, seats, and paddles - except the pump. Although, I feel like I could probably fit that too if I made a better effort. Additionally, Market Fleet has great customer service. One thing that is not mentioned anywhere in the description is that this kayak comes with a repair kit. My box was missing the glue for the patches, so I messaged Market Fleet. They responded within a couple of hours (maybe less) and politely asked for my address so they could send some immediately. Lastly, I would like to offer a quick comparison to another inflatable kayak I have used, the Intex Explorer K2. The Driftsun has a more premium look and feel, which is to be expected given the price gap. The premium look and feel inspires much more confidence in its durability. The Intex feels kind of like a pool toy, whereas the Driftsun feels solid and rigid thanks to the fabric shell and thick rubber-like hull. I feel much more confident sitting in the Driftsun than I did paddling the Intex. I also did not trust it would be safe to bring my dog in the Intex despite many websites claiming you can. In the Driftsun, I am not worried one bit about accidental punctures from my dog’s nails. As for the comfort of the two, the Driftsun wins here as well. The Driftsun’s padded seats are more comfortable despite being thinner than the Intex’s thick inflatable seats. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. The exceptional quality, comfort, and the fact I can bring my doggo with confidence makes this kayak well worth the higher price tag than some of the other cheaper options. ... show more

  • Very Happy with Purchase but will dye everything blue.
This kayak is seriously awesome, it’s way better then the plastic ones I used to rent for $15/hr. It felt more stable and didn’t fill up with water at all like others do (it seemed to dry up pretty fast). It actually felt like it was easier to take turns quickly and was such a smooth ride. The adjustable seats made it so comfortable and took off a lot of strain from your back (comparing to kayaks with no back support). I also love that you can easily unhook the chairs when out on the lake so you can lay down and sun bathe. Paddles were also good quality. It’s so incredibly easy to put together, only takes maybe 5 minutes to blow up and even less time to deflate and put back in its carrier bag. Only thing I wasn’t happy with was that the pressure gage did not work on the pump that came with the kayak but still a great pump regardless, I just had to kinda guess on how much air to put in. Great kayak! And great price! Easy to store and transport with it being so light. Hoping it will last for many years. UPDATE: I still love this kayak but I’m not happy that the blue from the kayak is DYING everything blue including the gray bottom and your skin! ... show more

  • I used this Kayak four times, then there was a loud BANG
At first, I was impressed with this product after having had other inflatable kayaks. The floor was firm, and the overall quality seemed excellent. I used the boat four times, following the instructions on how much pressure to inflate it. On the fourth time out we heard a loud bang and the floor buckled up, as you will see in the photos. This is quite a disappointment. ... show more

  • Make sure the kayak is adequately inflated; the gauge on the pump should register PSI.
The kayak seems sturdy , stable and easy to get into. It could be a little less bulky when deflated. Another brand with very similar materials fold up to a smaller space and the paddle will fit in the carry bag.

  • Initial Review - Inflated/Assembled Only
Received this kayak package very quickly; less than 24 hours after I ordered it! We haven't used it yet, so I'm only reviewing the set-up and providing my first impression. Now that I know how to inflate and install the seats, it will be a pretty fast (~15 minutes) set-up when we actually go out on the water. Inflating wasn't too hard using the manual pump, but a motorized pump would certainly be preferred. Using one says it voids the warranty so I didn't risk it yet. However, the provided pump shows results pretty quickly in that you see the kayak inflating after maybe 15 pumps. The odd thing about the pump is that it registers 1 PSI for nearly the entire time until it suddenly jumps to 1 PSI. At first, you kind of think that the pump isn't reading correctly. Having 2 of us to pump was nice. I had to bring out a small table to set the pump on so that I wasn't hunching over the entire time (I'm only 5'2"). I compared so many inflatable kayaks that I forgot about which features this had. I was happily surprised with 2 paddle holders (velcro), and a self-bailing drain. It has a good amount of storage space on each end of the yak. We are both 5'2" so legroom isn't an issue. Deflation went much quicker than expected due to the Boston valves. It folded back up easily but again, we haven't used it or gotten it wet so TBD. It was heavy folded in the carrying bag (which could really use a longer shoulder strap) along with the pump, but I was still able to carry it by myself on one shoulder with no resulting back issues today. Carrying it inflated with 2 people on each end was not heavy if you feel comfortable lifting 15-20 pounds with one arm. A very attractive kayak that felt quite durable. Looking forward to taking it out. ... show more
