I've been searching for a while for a clock that an old guy with fading eyesight can easily use. This is simple clock with an old fashioned wheel on the back that adjusts brightness from very dim to bright enough to see with advancing macular degeneration. I've had a few clocks with large numbers, but they all had too many digital options. The last one I recycled had nice large numbers. The downside was its complexity. You had to be a 70 year old with with good eyesight and an engineering decree or a thirty year old. I was neither. Each of the many buttons on top had multiple functions, depending on what combination of buttons were pressed. Its demise in my home came when the screen became an active button that would randomly turn on the alarm. That wasn't in the manual and got it booted from my night table. This alarm clock does not use any apps or smartphone requirements to get set up. A few simple buttons in the back of the clock allow setting time, alarm, brightness from very bright to completely off, and volume. The lowest volume setting could be a tad bit lower, but it is acceptable to me. The clock is completely silent. I purchased the dark blue lights, which do not light up the bedroom in the low setting. It is connected via USB cable to an adapter that is supplied with the clock. Very simple to use and pleasant alarm clock. Thought This Was Just Another Cheapo Chinese Item When The One I Bought Went Dead After Working For Only Two Months This seemed like a cool little clock, big High Viz numbers, dim-able, USB power, battery back up - BUT, when the thing died just sitting on the shelf in less that 90 days & I figured it was a worthless piece of junk. Not an expensive loss, but a waste of time & money. UPDATED REVIEW - Sent a note to the merchant, who responded promptly, addressed my complaint, and arranged to send a replacement, which arrived within two weeks. GOOD PRODUCT SUPPORT! Guess I just got a "Lemon" on the first try - inexpensive electronics often have QC issues - so now I'm back as a customer. Let's see how we go... ... show more

Truly, I can't tell you how much I love this clock...it is so perfect for me! I like a digital clock with big number, check! However, I am bothered by a bright clock once it is dark out. I used to put a black knee-high over my old clock at night...what a pain! This one so awesome because I can just dial down the brightness before bed each night! Problem solved! Bought this because I wanted a small clock that could dim down to almost nothing. This fits the bill for the most part. The dimmable feature is great. I can turn it down so it’s not visible in light and barely visible in the dark. It’s got big numbers, so I can see it without glasses on. It doesn take up much room on the bed table, however the power and USB charging cord do come straight out of the back, which means it won’t fit flat against the wall. A minor drawback. I don’t use an alarm (haven’t for 30+ years), so I didn’t rate that. No radio needed, so this works pretty well for me. ... show more

I love the fact that this clock is small and doesn't take up a lot of room on my nightstand. The other thing I love is that it is bright but adjustable. There is a dial that I turn down to its dimmest when I go to sleep and I turn it back up during the day. Keep in mind that there are two USBs on the back, however, one of them needs to be used to plug the clock in. So, there is really only one that you can use for something else. I track my sleep to get a minimum my 7 hrs every night. If I pop awake at night I use to fumble with my cellphone to get the time.That is very BAD...interrupts your sleep. I bought mine with green numbers and keep those numbers as dim as possible and read them just fine if I roll over and want the time. (I wear glasses but can easily see the numbers when looking at them in the dimmest setting.) Clock does not make any sound. No humming or buzzing. It's silent. It's nothing fancy. Does what I want it to do and hasn't broke yet. I'm retired..... so I could care less about an alarm. ... show more

Live that the brightness is adjustable and the large display. I keep mine pretty dim but when the bad Rottie tries to get me up at 4 am instead of 6, I can see what time it is without looking for my glasses and tell that dog to go lay back down. Also, had to move it to a different room the other night, battery back-up was great as when I plugged it in I didn’t have to readjust the time ... show more
