It is so easy to set up that my Labrador Retriever had it up and running in less than 5 minutes. I had to help with the instructions since English isn't his first language. Someone who is mentally challenged such as a politician ought to just have Fido set it up. The end of the charger cord that plugs in to the clock is the same size as the other end that fits in the charger. It is not the small connector that fits into a smart phone. Consequently, it sticks out the back of the clock a little more than an inch. I did not have sufficient space for that, so I ordered a 90 degree USB connector to plug in the back of the clock and the charger cord now runs along the back of the clock. To stop the alarm just press any button on the back of the clock. The brightness and loudness adjustments are smooth and have a very useful range. ... show more

This clock was purchased for its large numerals, and not for its alarm functions. The numerals ARE large, readable at a distance can be ordered in various colors and be easily dimmed or brightened as required. (I did experiment with the varied alarm functions and they operate well.) The accompanying instruction booklet is clearly written and easily understood. One of the first things I noticed was how easy it was to set this clock without the instructions. During DST changes twice a year, the one hour adjustment is quick and easy. The large green display can be adjusted dim/bright and is very easy to read. The battery backup keeps the time correct during power outages. It is powered by a USB-A and will power another device using another USB-A outlet. I have not used the alarm but there is a dial volume control for easy adjustment. We had our master bedroom completely refinished and my wife wanted a simple digital clock that she could just turn and see what time it was during the night. This clock is absolutely perfect! Only the numbers show and the two dot colon does not blink as the clock is operating. The digits are probably 1 1/2" to 2" in blue and can be viewed perfectly any time of day. No weather or temp digits. The ability to dial down the brightness is also one of its' better features. Highly recommend if you want just a basic digital only alarm clock. From the video putting batteries in the clock, I thought this clock had the option to be battery operated, a feature I wanted. However, the batteries required are only to maintain the time during any power outage. The clock still has to be plugged into an outlet. So now I had two alarm clocks and no battery run clock. I placed it next to the old clock I thought I was replacing with a battery run clock, and overnight there was a short power outage. I knew that because my old clock was blinking, needing to be reset to the correct time, but my new clock held steady with the correct time. It is a keeper! ... show more

The display on the clock is fantastic. Very crisp and clean and can easily be seen from across the room. The style is very nice as well. Doesn't look like the more common and traditional green bars you'd see in other digital clocks. I originally bought one for my workout room and then decided to get another one for the living room. Setting the time is very easy. It's also a very good size - plenty big to be seen well but not overly big to where it looks awkward. I haven't used it as an alarm or played any sound through it for that matter so cannot comment on the sound quality. ... show more
