The drain wig effectively captures hair flowing down our drains and catches it on a chain. After about a month, I checked the chain, which was almost always full of long hair. It's very low maintenance, and all I see is the plastic daisy on my drain when taking a shower. I have repurchased these shower hair catchers at least 10 times; I figured it was time to write a review. These work, great! I have two teenage girls with very long think hair. As my shower drain kept clogging, I was looking for a product that trapped hair without having to change the drain, or disassemble the bathroom drain. I found these! You just slide the chain into the drain and the flower sit right on top. Somehow the small plastic things catch ALL of the hair. I have not had to unclog the shower since using these. I put a new one in weekly (when I am cleaning the shower) and the amount of hair I pull out is crazy. These catchers are inexpensive and work so well. ... show more

This hair catcher works very good if you have the right kind of drain, it doesn't slip down on one of our shower drains cuz the opening is too narrow but works great on another shower drain.

My daughter with long hair used sit in the tub for an hour with long tweezers pulling her hair out of the stopped up drain every month or so. She just removed the last DrainWig (from a package of two) over the weekend. Her indication was the drain was stopping up. I don't want to sound gross but the chain of the DrainWig was loaded with hair. It did look like we could have made a wig it had so much hair. The drain immediately started flowing again. From the bathroom she yelled 'Mom order more'! I did order more and thanks to Amazon's promptness I ordered on Friday and it was delivered on Monday (Labor Day in the USA) which was a surprise it was delivered on a holiday. It is attractive looking in the drain. Of course has no odor and mine did not trap hair under the daisy. It is like it isn’t there at all. I have a 6 inch drain stopper made by Mudder that I purchased inexpensively here on Amazon that I’ve had for several years. This stopper will stop the water if the tub is used with the DrainWig is still in place and will catch the hair as the bath tub drains. I guess drain configuration could keep the DrainWig from working, I'm no plumber. But because of the DrainWig I know I won't be needing a plumber anytime soon. I recommend this product to keep the shower/bath tub drains clean and I recommend Amazon prime for speedy delivery!. ... show more

The top fan design allows a lot of hair to still get down the drain and the chain doesn’t really catch that much. It becomes gross and stinky pretty fast. I have switched to a mesh sticker instead which is much more effective nd not as gross.
